Obamacized GOP

Principle: Former Secretary of State Colin Powell wants his party stripped of the Reaganite values that won it the presidency for 20 of the last 28 years. Meet the "Grand Obama Party."

For many years it has been accepted that Gen. Colin Powell — who became a national icon thanks to appointments by President Ronald Reagan and both President Bushes — was more moderate than many of his colleagues.

What was not known until lately is how much animus he has for the governing philosophy of those who gave him the opportunity to achieve fame and millions in book sales.

In a Sunday CNN interview, Powell charged that Republicans have been "shouting at the world and at the country." They "use polarization for political advantage," listen to talk radio hosts who "seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts," and aren't looking into the "hearts and minds" of blacks, Hispanics and Asians.

Because of all these sins Republicans lost big this year and "the party has to take a hard look at itself," Powell said in the interview. "There is nothing wrong with being conservative," according to the retired four-star general, but "in another 20 years, the majority in this country will be the minority."

I wouldn’t turn my back on Powell. He has revealed the snake-in-the-grass that he really is. He can call himself anything he wants but he is not a Republican.

That’s what I’ve always thought about him, too. He struck me as oily and self-serving. Now he’s feeling emboldened and he’s gotten downright vicious.

I always thought Colin Powell was a ringer, even back in 1989 when Poppa Bush named him to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Colin Powell may have leaked more information than a sieve in an ocean.

Just out of curiosity, what would you say that he did as a general that made him particularly noteworthy?

We’ed like to know your thoughts.

Screw you, Colin Powell. What the hell have you EVER done for the Republican party?

Was that in enough a quiet calm mannered voice for you?

I warned republicans about him in 2000. He was a known lib.

And a very disloyal one it turns out.

Just so I know to whom I’m replying, just who is “we”, above. I was under the impression that most of us do our blogging alone.

He is one of the most overrated affirmative action figures in history of America.

....second only to the fraud about to unconstitutionally usurp the presidency.

Colin Powell is irrelevant, not worth an editorial.

Think of it this way ~ by jerking to the left for this election the Republican party failed completely to attract Powell.

So, no more leftwing nonsense. From here on out it's pure Americanism, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Time for the few remaing RINOs to get on board or go back to Europe.

He was an affirmative action pick in 1993. Weren’t some fifty people above him passed over by the “inclusive” GHWB?

I think Wright called him by the correct name Colon Powell.

Another Republican socialist in the mold of Bush I, Bush II, McCain, Spector.

May as well make it official and become a Democrat, Colin. Your name is mud with most Republicans.

"Just so I know to whom I’m replying, just who is “we”, above. I was under the impression that most of us do our blogging alone." I am not in 'the above', but I am part of the "we". So, the question remains, just what the hell did Colon Bowel do that made him such a great general? If you say Gulf War, wrongo. Credit General 'Stormin Norman' with having the cojones there. Colon Bowel is and always has been a recipient of affirmative action.... Just so long as he was on the stage it seemed to not matter what position he held......somewhat like a thesbian. Some would liken that to just wanting to be somewhere in the spotlight. Backing Obambi in the election and then blasting conservatives and especially Gov. Palin is the latest to.... as the song Rhinestone Cowboy said...keep the light "shinin' on me".

What we are saying is that Conlin actually was very impressive in Panama. He described the operation at the level of detail where the assignment of practically every soldier was stated - and it was clear that no one in the way would be left standing.

After that, we agree with you guys...in the Gulf War he got soft, to the point of almost causing us to lose. Since then only worse.

So we and you guys are not too far apart.

Who didn't know this?

His actions, words, and innuendo have spoken volumes over the years.

Had I been POUTUS, "The Colon" would never have been in the bowels of my administration.
