GOP nominee John McCain's campaign knew it was losing and was happy when it was over. President-elect Barack Obama's campaign wasn't prepared for Reverend Jeremiah Wright. McCain would likely want a "redo" on how he handled the economic crisis. And GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin may be the candidate of the future for the GOP.

John McCain knew he was losing and is glad it’s over....well at least he isn’t as oblivious as I previously thought.

What’ll McCains be entitled? “Running for the Silver”? “A Bridesmaid’s Story”? “Mr. Also-Ran”? “How to Waste Million$$ and Insure Your Opponent’s Success”?

I was surprised that people were surprised by Wright’s words. I listen to a lot of sermons online and I frequently hear things that would hurt a politician if he were confronted on it.

Governor Palin was the one bright shining light of the campaign season.

Both parties were filled with loons and hacks who left most of us wondering how we could ever recover from whomever won.

Pray for America and pray for the free world.

McCain has wanted the GOP nomination for prez for decades. When he got it, he fumbled the ball. Just goes to show - be careful what you ask for.

Palin saved McCain from being another Mondale or McGovern. She spoiled the MSM from having the 49 -1 headline they would have liked to have had. I’d like to see her run for 2012 with another female on the ticket.

I guess McCain't would want a "re-do"...but, the President doesn't always get a "re-do"...you have to get it right the first time.

If they ever have a pole about the two worst GOP candidates in history, Dole and McCain't will tie for the lead.

Both of them ran on "seniority", and that doesn't work anymore...neither does the "military hero" status...maybe they should work...but obviously they don't.

But look what "works" for the democrats...Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Obama...now there is a list of shady characters all.

Interesting, thanks for posting.

“McInturff also said he released a poll on Thursday that suggested that Palin may be the most popular pol in the GOP.

“Her ‘very favorables’ among Republicans is the highest of any Reputblican...Among Republicans, she today has the strongest very favorable rating probably of any Republican in the country.”

“We need to recognize that Gov. Palin has ended this campaign with a substantial political following in this party that will make her a player in the next four to eight years,” he said.”

You betcha! She's one of the very, very few republicans I'm still enthusiastic about.

Democrats did not win the election. Republicans gave it to them. There was no way McCain could win and the Republicans didn’t want him to win. Republicans did not want the White House during this economic situation. The problem is, Republicans were scared and wouldn’t tell the people. What they have done now is allow Obama to get elected and gave them the possibility of ruining our way of living to the point, it is estimated, it will take 50 years to correct what the Democrats will do.

“The two campaigns disagreed, perhaps unsurprisingly, about the selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as McCain’s running mate. Axelrod said he believed it was a “very negative decision” because it undercut one of the McCain campaigns most effective attacks on Obama.

“Their campaign was predicated on this celebrity notion” that Obama wasn’t qualified to be president, Axelrod said. “And then they nominated Sarah Palin for vice president and in one stroke our view was that they blew up what they had [accomplished] before and now they were fighting on our turf, which was change.”

Plouffe added that their polling showed that Palin was a drag on the GOP ticket with independent swing women voters in places like Colorado, the Philadelphia suburbs, parts of Florida and northern Virginia.”

They are still scared to death of Palin. As well they should be. Look for more trashing especially when she runs for re-election for Gov. in 2010

It was apparent that McCain had stopped fighting to win. I think that was cowardly at best, and an intentional giveaway at worst.

I was there at McCain’s rally in Davenport, IA not long before the election. I was struck at how little enthusiasm he showed during his speech.

Guess I know why now.

"Sometime around the 15th of September, it would have been fine to just call it quits at that point."

What's he talking about--they all did quit, EXCEPT Governor Palin, who gave it her all.

I thought that exchange was interesting, Plouffe proved to me there that the idea she was a drag on the ticket is coming straight from Democrats. They want to discourage us away from her.

I also thought this was interesting -

“McInturff disagreed. He said that Palin’s polling numbers “went up after the convention. Her numbers went up after the debate and her numbers went up in the last week. The three times that America saw Gov. Palin and not the caricature of Gov. Palin, her numbers improved.”

And this would be why they are scared to death of her.
