Barack Obama isn't even president yet, but a community in Main is thinking about naming a middle school for him.
By the beginning of the next school year, Marin City middle school students will have a new building to study in. The question is will the new school also have a new name?
It's a debate because the current name is Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, and some aren't ready for that to change.
They are changing the school nickname from Saints to the “Uhs”.
Now, everyone knows it’s “The REVerend DOCtor MARtin LUther KING, JUNior!”
Accented in all the proper places, and said in street rhythm.
Anything else is racist.

usually, they don’t dedicate names of schools til the person is deceased. Are they knowing something that we do not?
I would like to see the % of graduation from the schoools that were named after MLK and compare those same schools that were named after Eisenhower.......just saying.
About 6 black kids in the whole school.

Rush talked about this upcoming phenomenon a week or so ago. Street names, etc., renamed for lgo.
If it is really that heavily white, rename it Margaret Sanger Elenmentary School. The name will explain why there are so few black children.

Can’t have that, MLK was reputed to have been a Pubbie, and we can’t name schools after a Pubbie.
Time for a compromise. Keep the school name the same and dedicate the bathrooms to Obama.
He was a pubbie early in his life as were many blacks but that all changed by the time his life ended. He was pretty left wing by then.
Except for San Rafael's Canal District, which in recent years has gone bronze to the gills, and Marin City, which is the county's token ghetto, Marin is as white-white-white la-la lib as it gets.

New Mexico has very few black people. High, no humidity, lots of Latinos...maybe they don't feel welcome?

That is certainly one possibility. But I was really referring to Margaret Sanger's professed desire to exterminate them.
