Franken YouTube video pushes some buttons

Stepping up the pressure on the state Canvassing Board to count disputed absentee ballots in the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Al Franken's campaign Wednesday released a video with seven tug-at-the-heart stories from Minnesotans whose votes the campaign said were improperly rejected.

The video, which was released on YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBOad11LueE) and came two days before the board's Friday meeting on the issue, was immediately criticized by Republicans, who described it as "a new low" and another attempt to discredit local election officials.

In one scene, quadriplegic Mike Brickley of Bloomington is shown lying in bed -- with his head resting on a Minnesota Vikings pillow -- as he pleads with officials to count his vote. "I may be a quadriplegic," said Brickley, 46, as he stares into the camera and speaks in a halting voice, "...but we are still someone, and we deserve to have our votes counted."

What tactic is he using for the sympathy ploy....the fact he's a quadriplegic or a Vikings fan?

Democrats do not care about the rule of law. Democrats rule by seeking to manipulate emotions. Justice based on emotions is tyranny.

"...but we are still someone, and we deserve to have our votes counted."

If "we are still someone" then your biggest problem is you have been infested by the Borg Collective.

If you are going to make a calculated manipulation of my sympathy reactions, at least you could do it in proper English.

Does any one of these sad sacks think that maybe - JUST MAYBE - the best way to maintain the dignity that they are protesting the loss of is to avoid acting as tragic show ponies for some power-mad psychotic?

I thought that the ballots are secret. if so, then how can these people know their ballots were miscounted?

The court granted Franken access to the names of those with rejected absentee ballots. He hunted them down....

Why didn’t he walk through a graveyard and ask why these votes weren’t counted? Or WERE they?

There is an underlying worldview reason for what we see as a lack of regard for the rule of law. I’m not justifying it, just explaining it.

Leftists/libs have the worldview that a person sufficiently smart/elite enough can make better decisions with the information available to them, through reason, than those who wrote the law in the past. Those people in the past inherently didn’t have the information that present day people do.

They also put NO value on tradition, evolved law, or anything built into the culture that evolved due to the accumulation of knowledge over time (wisdom of the ages).

It’s all about a smart person in the hear and now making decisions based on reason - with the assumption that they can have all the information necessary to make those decisions better than anyone else past or present.

Yeah, right up until those with Al Franken's worldview decide you're nothing more than a "useless eater."

For all you lawyers out there claiming these absentee votes should not be counted. Explain to me what law says a recount should not correct for clerical errors made on election day, (thus mistakenly rejecting legitimate ballots)?

Also explain to me, what would be the purpose of a law that prevents for corrections of clerical errors?
