Sour...............
Hey Deb Price of the Detroit News liked it - that should be good enough for you hate-filled heterosexuals.
And last year they picked “No Country for Old Men” which after viewing, I turned to my husband and said, “I want that two hours of my life back”
But I did get Dark Knight on Blu-Ray yesterday!
Ta-da!!!
Is there anyone left out there who pays attention to any of these awards anymore?
The Grammys, the Emmys, the Oscars, hell, even the Nobel Peace prize died when they “Gored” it.
Some NY film critics gave it 4 Udders!
"...never go full homo"
Shocked? No. Surprised, of course....
Who was the talk show host who said in order to win an Oscar, you have to play a Gay, a Retarded person or be in a “Period” piece?
I’m sooo out of the loop- I never even heard of it, and never saw Brokeback, either.
But here’s the trailer for Jessica Biel’s new movie, where she plays a pole dancer. It looks like it will strongly appeal to the hetero male audience.
(This isnt particularly safe for work).

Move over Gone w/the Wind, Ben Hur & Citizen Cane. Its gonna be a clean sweep at the Oscars this year.
Now that was a dang funny movie!
Panda death scene had me rolling in the aisle.
I’m sorry, I thought it said Milf.
Are Twinkies available at the snack bar?
I thought this was the day without a gay.
That’s one less piece of Hollywood trash on my DVD shelf. When will these Producers in Hollywood learn? that the average family will not watch that crap.
Whether or not this particular movie happens to be good,
what bothers me is how many “award seeking” movies employ these important, but by-now-very-shopworn, motifs:
- gay issues
- Holocaust or anti-Semitism (and see below)
- ... or other forms of bigotry(*)
- retarded people (superbly spoofed in “Tropic Thunder”’s “you never go full retard” scene)
- “women’s issues” (e.g., Mona Lisa Smile)
- cancer/ disease
- “western civilization sucks / oppresses people”
- British coffee-table movies (Merchant/ Ivory-flavored stuff like “Atonement” or “The English Patient”)
(*— usually the bigotry on display in these movies is no longer REMOTELY as prevalent as it was during the time depicted, yet the filmmakers seem to believe that they are being So Very Brave for condemning that bigotry.)
Sometimes these “Gimme An Oscar” movies are actually quite good, IMO, like “Schindler’s List” or “The Remains of the Day.” Sometimes they are amazingly crappy and/or politically correct, however.
A movie about Harvey the-fecal-eater Milk?? You have got to be kidding? The marketing of deviance courtesy of hollywood—now that’s entertainment. Let me guess, Harvey is kind, brilliant, sensitive, and loving to all young boys captured by his beguiling personality.
It's one of a series of films that have very limited release only to be considered elegible for awards. Slumdog Millionaire and Nixon-Frost are others nobody has seen but are up for major awards.
