UN Blowback: More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims
US Senate Committee on Science and Public Works ^ | 12/10/08 | Marc Morano

Study: Half of warming due to Sun! –Sea Levels Fail to Rise? - Warming Fears in 'Dustbin of History'

POZNAN, Poland - The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

...Full Report Set To Be Released in the Next 24 Hours – Stay Tuned…

A hint of what the upcoming report contains:

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”

Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh....

Excellent thread, InABunkerUnderSF. Global warming was never about science, it was about politics, envirowackos, and greed.

I hope this Global Warming gravy train does come to an end, not that I am against other forms of energy — I moved 3 times in the last 10 years and converted each house from oil to natural gas and am looking into solar panels form my house now — anything not to give my money to OPEC.
If BO and the his new gov want to promote clean energy, they should make the cost for solar, natural gas, etc completely tax deductible and offer government loans at 1% interest for companies and homeowners as an incentive to do so.

Good for you. I also signed the Petition Project back in the late 1990s (B.S. Physics).

Dr. Arthur Robinson will be speaking at the Mar 2009 climate realist NYC conference sponsored by Heartland Institute.

All thanks due Mr. Morano and Senator Inhofe’s excellent staff.

Agreed, “global warming” is a tool used by people who would destroy capitalism and freedom if we let them.

The good news is, they seem to be scattering like cockroaches as the light is shined on them.

Unfortunately, it is taught in schools as FACT. The greens know the “true green revolution” will mount with the next few generations, just like Obama’s election came from the ignorant masses taught socialist pablum for the last two decades in government schools. It’s crawling marxism.

I moved 3 times in the last 10 years and converted each house from oil to natural gas...

Here is another reason why "greens" are so wrong about the world.

The term "greenhouse gas" BTW is attributed to Dr. Carl Sagan. Dr. Sagan was attempting to describe why Venus was so much hotter than scientists expected it to be. He pointed out that CO2 has a much higher thermal capacity than the N2 and O2 that make up our atmosphere. Unfortunately Dr. Sagan came from Brooklyn and there ain't many greenhouses in Brooklyn so he never learned that greenhouses work by limiting convection and not by concentrating CO2. Therefore we are stuck with an inaccurate term that doesn't explain anything.

Combustion takes hydrocarbons and breaks them down into water vapor (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Water vapor is about 140% worse, molecule for molecule, as a "greenhouse gas" than carbon dioxide. Short chain hydrocarbons like methane, butane and propane put a higher ratio of water vapor versus carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than longer chain hydrocarbons like heptane and octane.

You see, by converting your homes to burn natural gas you were actually putting more greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere than if you had burned heating oil. By burning methane you are putting much more of the deadly greenhouse gas H2O into the atmosphere

Of course with natural gas you are also dumping tons fewer particulates into the air but hey, this is about "global warming" and "greenhouse gasses", smog was last decade's problem!

:o)

I'll give you three guesses, but you can bet it won't be Al Gore or any of the "scientists" who raked in millions in grant money to promote this fraud.

The only reason 650 scientists are claiming global warming is not man made is clearly a direct result of man made global warming.

Global warming is going through a phase where it mimics a cooling period, but in you ‘really cute grandchildrens’ lifetime, it will rear its ugly head and destroy them unless we transfer money from our accounts into algores account.

The most serious and perhaps insidious failures of the structure and use of the models comes from the systematic reduction of reporting stations and the subsequent adjustments made to the raw data left from those still maintained to better make this sparseness more robust by “fitting” it to the more cooperative canary-points hand-selected by the modelers.

Unfortunately for them, they seem to have been caught recently by much more attentive observers whose interest is piqued more by accuracy than by suitability and now they are in the process of re-adjusting it while laboriously hammering the stubborn little squares into their nicely rounded but empty holes.

Still, as one critic casually commented at the beginning of the link, the relationship of clouds and their natural tendency to form about small particles also illustrates the backdoor for these sleazeballs to escape into the morass of regulation as the latest focus of regulation by the EPA and all its sisters, cousins and henchkin in chief now target PM2.5 as though every speck of dust is manmade and threaten to shutdown all construction or invention if the air is not left washed clean.

Result?, they still win, we still freeze for lack of fuel to heat our crumbling hovels and we still stick our bony fingers forward to receive our crumbs of cake.

The report on the petitionproject web site is very interesting reading and the best comparative analysis I have seen on the subject. I had seen some of the information presented at different times and places, but this report is a home run.

From Senator Inhofe's EPW Press Blog. 52 prominent scientists signed the IPCC report, 650 decented.

Dissented?
