People passing on the left are invariably going higher than allowed limits. Either ticket speeders consistently, or raise the limit.
but, but, but.....they’re using less gasoline!
So, in this case, it was the driver who was holding up others who flew into a rage because he was slowing others down and someone got mad at him?? Seems to me to contradict the premise of the article.
I’m very calm about left-lane bandits.
I just drive in their blind spot ‘til they have to exit.
Many of them miss the exit.
I have a problem with two-lane highways when the right lane has a 60 mph poker and the left lane is understood to be for those traveling 80 mph or faster. It’s tricky for guys like me who want to do 70 mph.
***Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell, weary of having his limo slowed down by such left-lane pokies***
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin drives herself to work.
Who’s better?
Personally, my button gets pushed by the cell phone users who prioritize the following 65 mph conversational drivel over such nuisances as actually using their turn signal indicators:
“Hey what are you doin? Me? Nothin’ I’m just bored, drivin’ to work. So what’s going on?....what are you doing?.....”
It is incredibly annoying when somebody is going 50 in the left lane, particularly when it is just one or two cars clogging everybody else.
Texas drivers are terrible, much worse than Kansas.
In Kansas, people move left normally when they see you behind them.
Not in Texas......very discourteous people here.
I was driving in Italy recently on their Autostradas and I simply could not go 80 mph on those roads because they are narrower and more curvy that our interstates.
Well, you do not drive in the left lane, even if you are going 80 [130 kph]. Cars will come up going 100 mph and faster and you do not want to be there when they do. I relearned the importance of staying in the right lane unless I am passing.
Also, in Italy the car in the left lane puts his left turn signal on and leaves it on until he is back in the right lane. I thought that was a pretty good idea because it make you more apparent to the cars you are coming up on from behind.
Agreed. ...and the tailgaters, and those who swing into the far lane while turning through an intersection,...
There is a special place in hell reserved for people who drive slow in the passing lane.
This has been hashed and rehashed. Court after court has affirmed that anyone going the maximum allowable speed by law has the right to the left lane as legally it cannot be slower traffic. So when you see the sign that says slower traffic, be aware that is a conditional statement based on the speed limit, not s relative comparison between a speeder and a non-speeder.
Usually somebody is speeding. slow it down.
There was the Bond flick in Japan in which a helicopter picked up the car and dropped it in the sea. It is my dream job to remove these idiots from the road.
HEAR! HEAR!
Your cell phone number should be the same as your license plate.
I would think they would get the message when everyone is passing them on the right and giving them various hand gestures accompanied by a mouths spewing a variety of expletives.....sigh.....they don't
If I am already doing 70, dont expect me to pull over when the speed limit is 65
Bump to get in on this later...
Do note that Connecticut is loaded with left lane exits. Sometimes people in Wallingford or Hartford HAVE to slow down and be in the left hand lane.
