Anyone shocked by the level or scope of corruption in Chicago or Illinois - is naive....or in denial.

I’m nearly 70, and Chicago/Crime/Corruption have been the sister “C’s” from my earliest recollections...

Oh, did I mention that is was CHICAGO that Obama CHOSE to make home and to make HIS entry into “politics”?
He had NO family connections at all to the area — but he KNEW it was fertile ground for the planting one’s seeds of political ambition....

Also note - Obama made not ONE COMMENT during his entire political life in Chicago about “change”,”hope” or cleaning up the greedy politicians....

So, the wholly and absolutely corrupt governor of Illinois tries to sell the US Senate seat Obama just vacated for, among other things, a "cabinet post", and Obama himself wants us to believe he never spoke to the Governor?

In fact, he wants to take back a statement that was made by Axlerod before the case exploded on the public view, which has not been contested until this moment, and now say that back then Axlerod, "mispoke?"

It is obvious that Obama takes the entirety of the US voting public for the fools this disgusting governor took the people of Illinois for.

Why do people go into politics if it isn't for the chance to extort money and deal in influence? That's just what government does. Why is anyone surprised? I really don't think this case is anything special. You could nail half the politicians in this country the same way Fitz did here. This guy was just unlucky - he got caught.
