U.S. District Judge Nan Nolan said "Good afternoon, governor" in greeting Blagojevich at the afternoon bond hearing. The governor was wearing sweat pants, gym shoes and an athletic shirt.
He was released on a signature bond that specifies that he'll forfeit $4,500 bond if he doesn't appear in court. Blagojevich also was ordered to relinquish his passport and his firearm owner's identification car.

How ironic. Put aside the felony indictment and the outright fraud and corruption....this asshat of a Democrat was one of the most strident anti-gun politicians in any elected position.
He went so far as wanting to ban all semi-autmatic firearms, prompting many IL gunmakers such as Kimber, Springfield Armory, et al. threatening to move their operations (and hundreds of jobs) out of state. Note only that, this little weasel not only has armed IL State Police with machineguns, but also has listed in his personal property several semi-automatic pistols and rifles that are to be surrendered to the State Police pending adjudication of the case.

In February 2006 "State of the State" address, he said the state should ban semi-automatic firearms, prompting threats from several gunmakers in the state that they will take their business elsewhere. Among these were ArmaLite Inc., Rock River Arms, Les Baer Custom and the legendary Springfield Armory.YOURE RIGHT! I was thinking of Les Baer, another M1911 custom shop. Thanks for the oversight!

I think Kimber said they wouldn’t sell to IL LEO’s if they went through with the ban. I know Barrett did..(as he did for CA).

Now hold on, folks. I say let's let him keep one. He might do us all a favor and "eat" it before the trial. Thus saving the taxpayers a lot o' money.

Just an aside - does anyone else think that the pic of the Gov up on Drudge’s site looks like Janet Reno without her glasses? Did she get contacts, dye her hair, change her name and move to Ill?

He’s also quoted in 2006 as saying that “anyone who owns a gun in Chicago is a gang member and up to no good”.

Indicted on countless felonies, and he only has to put up $4,500 bond??? WTF???? There are people arrested on drug possession charges that get slapped with $100,000 bonds or more. He should have had his bail set at $5 million.

“he only has to put up $4,500 bond???”
Not even. It was a signature bond. No cash out of pocket for him.
