That’s exactly why there’s so much public opinion against relocating Limbergh Field to Miramar. Neighbors don’t want commercial jets flying in to Miramar since it’s surrounded by neighborhoods.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR is a huge Marine Air base and home to the 3rd Marine Air Wing here in San Diego.
The jet went down not far from the base just east of the La Jolla area
Now saying two pilots, one was dazed but seemed ok (the one who parachuted) but they’re saying a second pilot perhaps did not have his chute open properly. From witnesses who interacted with the dazed pilot.
Clearing the area further because of chemicals and fumes.

Shortly after 12p noon, an F-18 crashed into a home in University City. Witnesses say one home is currently burning along with a couple of cars. The pilot reported has ejected. No word on his condition

Eyewitness Shelby Lovitt, a senior at University High school, said she heard a loud boom just before noon and then saw a plane go down. She said she also saw someone eject from the plane with a parachute. She ran out into field and saw black smoke and flames.
The school had been put on lockdown and no one is allowed to leave, she said.
Thick, black smoke could be seen rising from an area north of Governor Drive and west of Interstate 805, according to eyewitnesses. That smoke turned white as the firefighting effort began.
