Anyone who does not believe that Satan and his minions prowl the earth looking for who they can devour are severely deluded - and people are NOT basically "good at heart", but most are ego-centric as well as capable of extreme cruelty.
This is why we need a Saviour.

My husband says Satan has been loosed and is going around doing whatever he wants to do. God is in control, but many are bowing to Satan and obeying him. We are in extraordinary times. Thank God we do have Jesus as our Savior. We are seeing how depraved people can be.
