The failure of American media to properly vet the political beliefs of Barack Obama during the just concluded presidential campaign was on full display Sunday when the president-elect made clear just how much of a socialist he really is, and did so with nary a challenge from "Meet the Press" moderator Tom Brokaw.
Makes you wonder what the results might have been on November 4 if the press had done its job in exposing Obama's radical economic beliefs rather than attacking Joe the Plumber for suggesting he had them, and how much differently his appearance on "Meet the Press" would have gone Sunday if the moderator wasn't completely on board with these left-leaning philosophies.
Such is important when considering Obama's comments previously reported by NewsBusters here and here as well as a truly telling statement by the president-elect that working for your own financial benefit is "not good for anybody" (video available here):
TOM BROKAW, MODERATOR: Your vice president Joe Biden said during the course of this campaign it would be patriotic for the wealthy to pay more on taxes. In this economy, does he still believe that?
BARACK OBAMA: Well, I think what Joe meant is exactly what I described which is that if, if our entire economic policy is premised on the notion that greed is good and what's in it for me, it turns out that that's not good for anybody. It's not good for the wealthy, it's not good for the poor, and it's not good for the vast majority in the middle.

Tom Brokaw works for Obama’s new administration. The paycheck signed by NBC is just for show, so Brokaw can claim to be “objective”.
I guess he’s not a big fan of Ayn Rand, then.

The entrepreneur doesn’t think “what’s in it for me”, he thinks, “what do people want, and how can I give it to them”.
YEAH...everyone working for the STATE is the ultimate goal of this commie.....
I rub my hands in glee, rekishing... RELISHING... the joy I will have watching the failed Obama administration collapse.

“Ask not what you can do for your country- Ask what your country can do for you!”

For those who are responsible, self-sufficient, savers, or planning-for-their-future types, it’s “what are they taking from me to give to somebody else?” that worries us.....
That kind of selfish attitude has got to come to an end.

His whole campaign was based on 'spread the wealth', but now it's a bad thing?
As soon as you sell your fancy house, return the profits from your books, return your wife's fancy ring, go to a state park and camp out for vacation instead of an elite area of Hawaii and put your children in public school...I'll believe your drivel. Until that time I consider you a hypocrite. And a selfish one at that.
The thing is, I don't begrudge you any of those things. And conversely, you shouldn't begrudge any one else by trying to guilt people (selfish) for wanting the same.
As soon as I receive my check from YOU from your OWN personal bank account to pay my rent and gasoline, I'll look at “spreading the wealth” from MY bank account.But, being a lowly tax paying citizen, I don't guess I'll get the privilege of that choice.
