It’s always one dictator ousting another.

Not when the second dictator is probably militarily stronger than the first dictator, and far away to boot.

I see the same things developing. When America wakes up from its druken slumber, we can only pray it won’t be too late to put it back together.

Maybe Obama can get some bail out for his African brothers too?

I hope that's not what he meant by share the wealth, we need bailing out here first.

He campaigned for Odinga he obviously supports him and his hertiage being from the LUO tribe. Of course he has dual loyalites so when push comes to shove we will be committing money, troops, aid to the African nations that decide to go to war with Zimbabwae.

But unlike Ousting the Terrorist Saddam Hussein this one will be wink, wink, OK in the minds of liberals since it serves a purpose greater then our greed for OIL...

Oh I just threw up a little bit in my mouth typing that...

Odinga Calls On African Leaders to Oust Mugabe

So that, riding on 'cousin's' coattails and success (it lends him a more legitimate air, having cousin as POTUS), Odinga can oust Mugabe because he, Odinga, wants to be the next Mugabe. And, gee, we get to help.

Yeah, it seems so, even though his loyalties should lie with the US first. I didn’t even think about that aspect of it right away. Oprah’s no dummy, she’s been pushing for more aid for Africa (and I agree some of the aid we already give should go there) but now her man is in the office. Ouch. And now we can fund thuggery and persecution. I think I may need a barf bag, too. And the oil obsessed don’t really have an understanding of how oil is used and processed or they would just shut up.

A little late for this, isn’t it?

Ever heard of horses, barn door?

Yes. I’d be interested in Odinga sending his machete boys against Mugabe’s unpaid military. That would be worth watching.

Zimbabwe was relatively prosperous for the first couple of years of the 80s. Then once Mugabe consolidated his power, it began going downhill. I was working there in 1985, and the Rhodies were seeing the handwriting on the wall and the smart ones were already moving their assets out of the country. Many planned on returning to their ancestral home, Britain, or to Australia. Relocating to South Africa turned out to be not so good of an idea.
