A conservative pro-family leader believes the Obama administration will move sooner rather than later to attempt to repeal the law that forbids homosexuals from serving in the military.
In recent weeks there have been conflicting reports about a timetable for the new, more heavily Democratic-controlled Congress to try to repeal the 1993 law that bans homosexuals from the military. The Washington Times reported that president-elect Barack Obama will not move for months, perhaps not until 2010, to ask Congress to repeal the ban. The paper quoted two sources who advised the Obama transition team about the potentially explosive issue.
But Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, gives credence to a story published in CNN that the policy could be overturned this year.
"I was told by a reporter, [from] a very respected media institution, that the number-three priority on the list of the liberal activists who are very excited about Mr. Obama taking over the White House...is indeed [the] repeal of the law regarding gays in the military," she explains.
Obama, according to Donnelly, is committed to social engineering in the armed forces. "The president-elect Mr. Obama has made it very clear that he would support legislative efforts to repeal the law," she contends. "He wants to open the armed forces to social engineering on an unprecedented scale, making it a civil rights issue to say that there should be homosexuals in military 24/7."
Donnelly says it is important for supporters of the military to contact their members of Congress and urge them not to repeal the ban.

Yes indeedy - 0bamination wants us to all hurtle off the cliff into the abyss as fast as possible. Solution? Don't know. Stand up for truth any way we can, large or small. Maybe I should plaster my car with home made bumper stickers. 0bama wants to destroy this country and those who say "well, in 4 or 8 years we'll just elect a real conservative and undo it all" are, IMO, fooling themselves. The ruination he plans to visit upon us will be very difficult to undo.
I can only hope that whatever Repubs are left in Congress can muster enough guts to do their best to derail whatever infernal plans 0 and his sycophants try to implement.
PS - the idea of the lying marxist fiend as CIC sickens me beyond words.
> How well does a gay man fight anyway? Do they know how to handle guns or do they slap and scratch like a girl?
I think that depends entirely on the gay man. Not all gays are effeminate. Some can fight really well.
> What I dont understand-
> MOST gays are militant liberal democrats.
Quite a few of them are Libertarians. If you think about that, it makes perfect sense. Libertarians have much more in common with Conservatives than they do with Liberals.
> So, why do gays want so badly to join the military?
Many of them want to serve their country.
Hollyweird will crawl on board the good ship Obomba with gusto.

There are many other ways to serve the country..
> There are many other ways to serve the country..
Without a doubt. They would argue “give me one good reason why not let gays serve in the military. Other countries allow gays in the military and they don’t have any problems.”
Or else, only GAYS will enter, just like in decorating and salons and window dressers and ballet dancers and makeup artists, etc. etc. etc.
I am in an infantry unit (Active duty Army). Just got back from Iraq.
In my opinion, open homosexuals in MY unit would be a bad thing. It would be bad for morale, and it would hurt the mission.
> Are you gay?
Nope. I’m straight. Just presenting the other side.
> WHO....what SANE person wants a gay person sleeping and showering 1 foot away from them??
So long as they are not showering/sleeping on top of you or anyone else, or making amorous advances, why should it matter?
It actually doesn’t: by time you’ve finished a hard day’s work, the only thing you can think about is getting a decent amount of shuteye. And if you’re dirty and sweaty enough you won’t care who you’re showering with.
> It would be like men and women sleeping together and showering together.
Yes, and...?
Ever been on an expedition in the snow, when the temperature drops well below zero every nite? Guess what: that is precisely what happens. Everyone all gets into the same tent, gets real close to conserve heat, and sleeps together. The novelty wears off in about two minutes.
Ever been scuba diving? You guessed it: there ain’t room on a small boat for separate changing rooms.
> BREAKDOWN.....straights will LEAVE the military,
This hasn’t happened elsewhere, why should it happen in the US?
> there will have to be a DRAFT, and people will revolt again.
That is one possible outcome. Is it the most likely? I doubt it.
Just curious...how old are you and are you a man or woman and what is your job?
> Just curious...how old are you and are you a man or woman and what is your job?
All is revealed in my ABOUT page.
You’re a KIWI??? Congrats., but you as a New Zealander have no idea of our military’s responsibilities in the world. The BREAKDOWN would be DISASTEROUS for the WORLD!!
> Youre a KIWI??? Congrats.,
Cheers. I’m also Canadian and British.
> but you as a New Zealander have no idea of our militarys responsibilities in the world.
Sure I do. And it may surprise you to know that we deploy most of our military around the world, too.
> The BREAKDOWN would be DISASTEROUS for the WORLD!!
Your military is made of sterner stuff than that. Ours is.
“They wouldnt have to it shows ban them.”
The way it is now, if a military member is suspected of being a homosexual, someone has to make the accusation—and it can’t be an anonymous accusation. Then there’s an investigation, followed by action based on the findings. You can’t boot someone out based on suspicion.
Not that I agree with this... I’m just saying how it works these days thanks to Clinton.
Oh gee.....what is YOUR military responsible for except support work. Super but not exactly weight of the world on your shoulders, there....eh?
Perverts in charge and forcing it on you.
BO will lift don't ask don't tell sooner rather than later as Clinton did. The tactic is to make the unpopular/controversial decision early in hopes it is quickly water under the bridge. Stand by for normalization.
A large pct of our males respect the military because of its stance on queers...this move will turn our armed forces into a full fledged social lab.....I know many closet queers serving and it will sicken me to see them in their real dress...it is a readiness issue.
Wait until Pandora's box is opened on this one.
Gays are tough!
