A conservative pro-family leader believes the Obama administration will move sooner rather than later to attempt to repeal the law that forbids homosexuals from serving in the military.
In recent weeks there have been conflicting reports about a timetable for the new, more heavily Democratic-controlled Congress to try to repeal the 1993 law that bans homosexuals from the military. The Washington Times reported that president-elect Barack Obama will not move for months, perhaps not until 2010, to ask Congress to repeal the ban. The paper quoted two sources who advised the Obama transition team about the potentially explosive issue.
But Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, gives credence to a story published in CNN that the policy could be overturned this year.
"I was told by a reporter, [from] a very respected media institution, that the number-three priority on the list of the liberal activists who are very excited about Mr. Obama taking over the White House...is indeed [the] repeal of the law regarding gays in the military," she explains.
Obama, according to Donnelly, is committed to social engineering in the armed forces. "The president-elect Mr. Obama has made it very clear that he would support legislative efforts to repeal the law," she contends. "He wants to open the armed forces to social engineering on an unprecedented scale, making it a civil rights issue to say that there should be homosexuals in military 24/7."
Donnelly says it is important for supporters of the military to contact their members of Congress and urge them not to repeal the ban.
It's a shame that this speaks volumes about the character of Obomba. (America's first African-African president.)
To be beholden to a gaggle of perverts is an utter disgrace.
Buy Stock in the company that makes Soap on a Rope.
could those helmets possibly look more GAY?
Only if they were pink!
For some reason Obama is determined to suck up to the gays. I wish I knew why a supposed Christian would bend over for such abominations.
This was also one of Mitt Romney’s goals, full integration of homosexuals into the military, it looks like Obama will beat him to it.
If this happens, I will guarantee you that Navy members will vote with their feet, and accept a discharge as soon as they can. I don’t think many civilians who have never served truly understand just how big of a threat this poses to our Armed Forces.
Unfortunately, those people who don’t understand (and who don’t really care) are the Congress Critters who are going to attempt to make this happen.
Just had to pause a moment to adjust my tinfoil hat. One of the American flags started to fall off, but I fixed it. :)
As it should be. Why should the military care what they do in private, off-duty? Existing fraternization and sexual harassment regulations should be adaptable to take care of any issues this presents.
The simple fact of the matter is that there are gay and lesbians serving in uniform now. No one of my generation cares very much.
They infiltrate to destroy the organization. Just like they have damaged the leadership of all the mainline churches.
I agree. When I was in the Army, there was no doubt that there were some guys that were "smoking rope". However, having it in the open would definitely not be conducive to good order and discipline. Same thing with women in combat arms units.
Homosexuals can and do serve in the military. They just can’t tell anyone they are homosexual, and no one can ask them if they are. They have to be “stealth homosexuals.”
There goes out military; how many lifetime officers (and PVCs do you think will retire or opt to not re-enlist) when this goes into effect?
They just cant tell anyone they are homosexual/They wouldn’t have to it shows ban them.
That is most reassuring - sounds like the Armed Forces at the last hold-out. God bless them all.
I agree - I had no problem with them if they stayed in the closet. Whenever I get treated to pics (compliments of the tv) of two men or two women showing “affection” to each other, it honestly makes me rather sick. I find it revolting.
I hope all the black members of the military who voted for Zero enjoy their new bunk mates!
