From the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against Socialized Medicine as proposed by the Democrats, then a private citizen Ronald Reagan Speaks out against socialized medicine. There is no video because this was an LP sent out by the American Medical Association
I posted this same speech a while back.
Too late - “the one” says healthcare is a right.
Done properly, socialized medicine is a good thing.
However, it would be impossible to do it properly in the United States, given fifty separate jurisdictions coupled with the fact that your economy and tax infrastructure just isn’t and can’t be geared for it: it would bankrupt the country if it were attempted.
My attempts to do a search for this on FR came up empty, but regardless, with "The One" in the White House soon, this seemed apropos for a reposting. :-)
For a moment I thought that it would be a great idea for this guy to run in 2012.
Sigh...
Thank you for posting. I always read anything with Ronald Reagan in the title. :) I’ve got the LP Cover on my FR homepage.
It is OK, it has been many months back. I just remember posting it too. Reagan’s speeches are so timeless and meaningful, unlike Obambi’s, who gets liberals really excited, but no one has any idea what he actually said and meant after he said it.
Don’t worry — it’ll get worse before it gets even worse.

Thanks for the post, CC. Bumping for later.
That’s CCC. : )
So I wonder: who picked up the tab for Reagan’s legnthy decline from Alzheimer’s?
