Senior Clay Edwards’ photo won’t be in this year’s Bracken County High School yearbook. He’ll be listed as “not pictured.”
For Edwards it wasn’t missing picture day or a case of the flu that kept him out of his last yearbook and the class of 2009 composite – it was a dog collar and makeup......

Looks more vampire goth than emo. Emo requires the backwards mullet, vintage tee, and white belt.
I agree. If he grows out of it, what a tool to have when his kids think they are rebellious.
In my day, the punks who where the ones likely to do the whole makeup and dog-collar thing, and they could return a good ass-whoopin. This kid looks like he would bake cookies.. evil cookies.
Seems to me that if that look is allowed in school, why not in the yearbook too?
My best friend from age of 12 was very very punk (80’s). Ironically, as much as people gawked at her and her multicolored mohawk, I realized that she was really hiding. As long as they were looking at the clothes, the hair, the makeup... they weren’t looking at “her”.
She grew up to be a really nice homeschooling mom if you can believe it.

In 10 years, he's gonna be happy that his photo was omitted from the yearbook.
That being said, every yearbook needs the goofy Emo kids (or "new wave kids" when I was in high school) asserting their individuality. If that's how he dressed every day in school, then that's how he ought to be remembered in his yearbook photo. What does it really matter? Ten years later, we all laugh at our senior yearbooks.
Maybe we should hope he doesn’t have any?

The school is the official publisher of the yearbook and they can call the shots. No doubt they told the kids “what not to wear.”
Let the kid make an ass of himself. I’ll never live that yearbook picture with the Nehru jacket down.
At a reunion, i noticed most of the wilder kids in HS had become the stay-at home moms, attorneys, etc, and the good, clean kids, if they were still alive, were all drunk, doing coke in the bathroom, and generally unhappy with life.
