The remedy for this is fairly simple. Parents who actually have brains should challenge their kids to go direct to the primary source, i.e., for American history and government, read Washington's speeches, The Federalist Papers, de Tocqueville, the Declaration and the Constitution, etc.
Public school textbooks are (by and large) crap. Always verify the facts with primary sources, consider things from different viewpoints, and understand rhetoric, logic, and the English language.

i dont know if any FReepers are familiar with a man named KENT HOVIND. He teaches creation now in prison for a crap charge for tax evasion. anyways he says there is a passage in the BIBLE where it states that satan will use textbooks to sway children from God. if anyone can find the exact passage will be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering, in regards to this author, Spenser: what if we bought his books in bulk and just donated them around various channels (Library, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc)? Wouldn’t that help the cause of getting out alternative information? Just a thought.

What worked for so many decades in other governments and for various reasons is working here. Stalin made sure no one knew the facts about WWII and pretty much succeeded. Also, the official record of the Nuremberg trials is yet to be published in Germany.
American Socialists have been very busy here and in the same effort. Is it any wonder young people have no factual frame of reference for our history and democratic processes. The internet is the equalizer.. it should be promoted vigorously.
In my estimation, the World events as reported on the internet and in circles will trump the ‘sleeper’ classes the students are subjected to.
Nonetheless, the omissions and misrepresentations in the textbooks need to be addressed. I think it’s fair, realistic, and wise for every parent to advise their children that portions of what they are taught in school may be inaccurate, or at least bias.

I and friends of mine have been fighting the subversion of our text books and schools and kid's minds for decades. The Socialists now OWN our schools.

Check your children’s textbooks, see if they have the Saudi versions of history, most school textbooks do not have the Saudi influenced versions I would guess, check them.
Having been interested in politics and history since I was around 10 years old, when I reached high school in the early 1960s it was already far left with the teachers and textbooks.
I challenged the teachers and made their hr. each day miserable. Was down graded but could care less.
Thinking parents can monitor what their children are learning in public school is the problem.
A large per cent of parents are the second and third generation of the heavy left wing teaching.
Then you also have parents who could care less.

This type of education has evolved from many years back. A little censoring here and a little twisted truth about our founders and our national history.
I jolted my mind to learn who the founders were, and what their purposes were; for Harvard, Princeton, Yale etc. The men that founded these Universities would be black-balled today if they were on those campus’s; by the students and the staff.
May God help us unchain us from the mental and spiritual bonds we are now experiencing!
Saudi Arabia just bought the US Presidency for Obama, and if that doesn’t stick in your craw, perhaps asking your kids what they learned in school every day will be a wake up call. Tolerance of evil will kill this nation and everything it stands for.
