COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Mark Sanford says he will do everything he can to fight another round of bailouts, though he acknowledges he can't do much.
The new chairman of the Republican Governors Association praised president-elect Barack Obama on Wednesday for meeting with the nation's governors so soon after his historic win. But Sanford said he told Obama that another federal economic stimulus package would worsen the economy, not help it.

I don’t know why no one’s talking about a Sanford presidential run in 2008. He’d be a fine choice.

It’s good to see there are some real conservatives left.

His name is Fred G. Sanford.
And the G stands for Government Bailout!

I dont know why no ones talking about a Sanford presidential run in 2008.Because the American masses don't want the truth or integrity or honesty. They want free stuff, pop, glamor, and to FEEL good. They could care less if problems are actually solved, so long as they think they are getting something for nothing.
Also, they don't want old white men anymore, that's so 20th century! /sarc.

Some of us are talking about it. Even those of us, like me, who are Sarah Palin fans. He’s in the top 3 of Republican candidates for 2008. Mitt Romney THINKS he’s in the top 3, but he’s not. Sanford is in my top 2, with Palin. Jindal is great, but I really want to see him have more time to really show what he’s made of.
Sanford is absolutely awesome! I’m so proud he is my governor. I’ve had the priviledge of meeting him on several occasions. He is always willing to listen to what people have to say and even takes notes. He pisses off the liberals that are in the SC state house which is most definately an indicator that he ROCKS and is no Rino!

Yes, he is probably philosophically the most grounded governor we’ve got right now, and leading the RGA should help to polish his presentation for a national campaign.
To: CautiouslyHopeful
He is so far relatively uncharismatic and not 'pro-life.' He can fix the latter and the former may not be as big an issue in 2012 after the nation learns it's lesson about voting for charismatic marxists.
I know the guy, I've met him a dozen times or so, he's my governor and former congressman, and I trust him. Fix the pro-life thing (like Romney did) and run, Mark, run.

How is he pro-choice? Everything I’ve seen suggests pro-life.
