More uncounted ballots found in Minneapolis
by Curtis Gilbert, Minnesota Public Radio
December 5, 2008
Minneapolis Minneapolis election officials are still searching for 133 ballots that city officials believe to be missing, as they finish the recount in the U.S. Senate race.
During their search this morning in a Minneapolis warehouse, they found a thin plastic bag that could contain uncounted overseas military ballots from another precinct.
Minneapolis elections director Cindy Reichert says it's "clear the ballots were mishandled." The Secretary of State's office has asked counties to finish their recount of the Minnesota Senate race by today, although the office has given Minneapolis an extension until Dec. 16 to locate the 133 ballots.

Wouldn’t overseas military ballots more likely be Coleman votes?

Only if they were actually military overseas ballots.

Oops, maybe Franken will change his mind about being so diligent in the search for lost ballots after this.

Uncounted military ballots. Well, these aren't the disenfranchised voters you are looking for...

Maybe they need to do a house by house polling place by polling place search . . . NOT. The taxpayers have to be tired of the big baby Franken doing anything to get elected and spending more and more each day or their tax dollars to get his way come hell or high water. If they want a public servant, it is clear Franken is not ones servant except his own.

“clear the ballots were mishandled.”
Is that like saying someone “assumed room temperature” or “he died of lead poisoning”.

This “recount” is ridiculous. How many times have people found uncounted ballots in the stove, warehouse, closet, refrigerator, etc.?
To: Chet 99
This whole thing stinks to high heaven, regardless of who wins.

"Wouldn’t overseas military ballots more likely be Coleman votes?" Not when they are "overseas military ballots" that were printed up by the DNC and the franken campaign.

More like saying they have been invalidated because there is no way to determine if they have been tampered with or were ever valid votes to begin with.

Ergo, that’s why they were “mishandled.”

"Wouldnt overseas military ballots more likely be Coleman votes?"At this point, any ballets for Coleman will be disallowed. Only votes for Smalley will be counted.

This is pathetic. We as a nation should be better than this. “Mishandled,” my a$$. It’s a travesty when any legitimate vote is mishandled, but when it affects our military forces, that’s cause for whoever is responsible to pay a price.

I agree. How freakin’ hard can it possibly be for a precinct to follow directions and turn ballots in on time. All this “lost ballots” stuff is crap.
