I would offer to pay them double!
Hey, another publicly financed “Dump your stolen piece for cash” day ... essentially allowing thugs to turn in hot, broken or worthless guns for cash to buy other guns for criminal purposes.
They’ve tried this here in York, PA. It’s noting but political grandstanding.
Some sick SOB was distributing a flier showing to make a function gun with a couple of bucks worth of materials available in any hardware store. He suggested making six of these, selling them in the buyback program for $50 each, and then taking the $300 and buying a real gun.
Wish they would have this in our city; I have two old total junk guns worth a buck apiece that I would love to get $50 each for!
Regards,
GtG
PS See me first, I'll go at least $75 if the piece is worth having!
I will too!
Let’s pool our money, and then we can divvy up the “take”.
Nothing creates an incentive quite like paying criminals to steal a few more. Maybe the city of Denver will use the cash to pay for trigger locks for their cops....

I once saw a junkie standing in line at a Washington DC “buy-back”, waiting to get a $100 gift card for a brand-new-looking Colt AR-15.
Another decrepit-looking fellow was waiting to turn what looked to be a WWI vintage S&W .38 (the one with the lanyard loop on the bottom of the grip), for a $50 gift card.
It made me sick to my stomach.
$50 for my gun? Sorry dude, I ain’t selling. It cost nearly $950 for my AR15. Give me $1,700 and it is yours. Then I will take the $1,700 and buy two new ones. Your move Denver.
That’s not sick... that’s GENIUS!
Right....
Because everyone knows that "these criminals" are absolutely chomping at the bit to line up and get fifty bucks apiece for guns they either stole or paid hundreds of dollars for on the black market.
You know they'll do it for the good of "the community".

Ok now, let’s get this straight. If a gang guy shoots another gang guy and steals his gun; this organization will pay him $50 for it.
Then why are the guns being destroyed instead of re-sold to law-abiding citizens?
Steal a gun. Turn it in. Get $50. Walk away.
Their crime rate will be double by tomorrow.
“Ok now, lets get this straight. If a gang guy shoots another gang guy and steals his gun; this organization will pay him $50 for”
Hey, we ought to just pay ‘em a $50 bounty”.
They did it here...A little investigation...They were buying better models...on the street.
It implies that the gov't owns them in the first place.
