I didn't serve there, so I haven't any direct knowledge, but this doesn't comport with what I've been told from friends who did in any way.
No, I don't think she's the Edwards delegate who switched to The One.
I just heard the John Kerry was in Viet Nam. Is that correct?
Yes, but this time from a Pulitzer prize winning journalist/academic, so she has some credibility
Liberals do not understand warfare at any level. Further, they automatically assume that a civilian during a war, has the right to about the country side, when and where they please.
The truth is that the military operates under different levels of engagement to meet different threats. At times, there are “free fire zones”, meaning that if anything is in that area and it is moving .... it dies. Cause we are not going to take the risk. One example of a modern free fire zone is the 3rd fence in a NBC bunker. If you make it far enough to get inside the 3rd fence, you die. Period, end of discussion.
Liberals can’t abide the thought that there is some place that they cant go ... some thing they cant see, some action they cant take, some information they cant know.
I did and can absolutely state that the conduct of the American troops there was above reproach. I NEVER witnessed any deliberate acts of violence against civilians by American forces, but the same cannot be said about the NVA and the Viet Cong. Often it was difficult to determine the difference between a civilian and an "insurgent" as they are now called as a result took unnecessary casualties.
It is about time that a book was written about the thousands of unnecessary and innocent American casualties who died as a direct result of the American left and MSM giving comfort, aid, and encouragement to an otherwise defeated enemy!
Besides, what's a little lie when you aspire to political office.
These traitors lost us the war, and they’re still stabbing US troops in the back. Has this old hippie written any books about Viet Cong and NVA atrocities??
unless its about a Kenyan’s birth certificate.... then its a non-issue or a tinfoil hat conspiracy with no merrit.
A Pulitzer prize proves no “credibility” whatever. It’s totally politicized, like the Nobel “Peace” prize.
Yes, and I believed he received a band-aid for his service to our country!
What a scum this woman is!
Nice post, taxcontrol.
Thanks..I needed that pic for this crap. Didn’t see it was you who posted that.
These atrocities may very well have occurred. So what. When the enemy runs a guerrilla war then these sorts of things are the inevitable results. Such is the cost.
It does not demean the service of those who fought there. Those that died, nor does it reduce the nobility of the purpose of that war...which was to stop the spread of communism.
Collateral damage is the responsibility of the aggressor. Which was not the USA or our fine soldiers who served.
The ONLY complaint I have is the (*&%^%&^$^%#^%$&*(*_) roads and highways!!!!! Trying to navigate the Tx-1 / 290 / I35 interchange with NeverLost is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.
From the vets I’ve talked to, one never knew who the enemy was, since few of them wore an identifiable “uniform”. When civilian casualties occured, they were accidental, unintentional and many, many times the work of NVA or VC.
My guess this book doesn't attract much attention, but I could be wrong. She should have done it on Iraq.
