CHICAGO The U.S. Supreme Court will consider Friday whether to take up a lawsuit challenging President-elect Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship, a continuation of a New Jersey case embraced by some opponents of Obama's election.
The meeting of justices will coincide with a vigil by the filer's supporters in Washington on the steps of the nation's highest court.
The suit originally sought to stay the election, and was filed on behalf of Leo Donofrio against New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells.

The Obama campaign has maintained that he was born in Hawaii, has an authentic birth certificate, and is a “natural-born” U.S. citizen. Hawaiian officials agree.
Have Hawaiian officials actually made a comment on whether he is a ‘natural-born’ citizen? I thought the validated the certificate of ‘live birth.’
I saw a blurb that was posted last week on Drudge—it only was up for less than an hour. Drudge is my main news website. Will try to time this posting on Drudge.
Bless them for validating that he had a live birth. Many have wondered!
Yeah, sure thing, to hurry up and sweep it under the rug once and for all. Then, no matter what evidence turns up later, they’ll never have to revisit it. The perfect Constitutional crime. Sorry, not a lawyer, just a pessimist.
This is an intentional misstatement intended to make it sound like a bunch of kooks.
No! I've seen absolutely no evidence of that around here! /sarc
Kenyans Need Not Apply! ...bump
I am sick and tired of hearing him called President-elect.
He does not become President-elect until the Electoral College meets and votes for him.
So Obama would rather waste the precious time of the Highest Court in the land over something that he could so simply squash by requesting that his Vault Original Birth Certificate be released to the Public.
I really don’t understand this motivation. Unless of course there is something to hide. Americans are entitled to know about their President Elect.
I wonder if this is the way things will go in the Obama Administration. Requests for information go unanswered and stonewalled versus just simply providing the proof as required by the Constitution.
Hey Obama ... Not a good start buddy. Let America decide what it has a right to know or now know about you.
Eight HUNDRED.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Pakistan zero
Zimbabwe declared a national emergency over a cholera epidemic zero
Iraq's approval of a security pact that sets a three-year timeframe for U.S. troops to leave 2 comments.
The way I see this thing is the Supreme Court has exactly two options. Take the case and risk having the minority population burn down the neighborhoods they live in
not take the case and incur a total constitutional meltdown and possible nationwide internal war.
Im thinking the Supremes had DAMN well better take the case and conduct a full investigation.
In case you hadn't figured it out, 0bama is a self-centered egotistical, SOB - not to mention b*st*rd. Wasting other peoples' time, money, etc. comes naturally.
Aerosmith....”Dream On”....Sorry, it ain't happening. My blood pressure has come waaay down since I “got” that “the fix is in”.
Either he's got something to hide, or he's just refusing to provide the certificate, just to demonstrate that he doesn't have to follow the rules that bind the rest of us.
Either of which ought to be disqualifying.

And no doubt anything about this that comes up after his inaugeration will be ignored through his EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE! Did anyone watch L&O last night? This came up with one of the higher politicians, but good ole Jack McCoy won the issue!
He had a link to the Keyes suit last wk.
This is not correct. There is NO challenge to his citizenship - none! The challenge is to whether or not he is a natural born citizen to ensure he is eligible for the office of the Presidency as required by the Constitution.
