Nevada Republicans suffered a serious blow Wednesday when their first announced challenger to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was indicted on four counts of misappropriation and falsification of public records.
The charges, handed down by a Clark County grand jury, accuse Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki of committing the crimes when he he was state treasurer. Krolicki's then-chief of staff, Kathryn Besser, was also indicted in the case.
Krolicki could face a maximum of 16 years in prison on the counts, which revolve around the Treasurer's office bypassing budget controls on a statewide college savings program, according to an audit conducted last year.
The news is hardly unexpected. Krolicki told reporters he had been advised of the pending indictment in late November, part of what he calls a "witch hunt" by Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto. Masto, a Democrat, refused to comment on the case, citing privacy laws.
Before the indictment Krolicki was seen as a serious contender against Reid. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is expected to take on Reid, whose approval ratings are less than stellar, just as Democrats ran hard against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) this cycle.

Oh but the REAL queston is just how bad Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki smells, not what he actually did or did not do.
Either it’s awfully suspicious, or it’s a good thing it happened now rather than later. The real question is how Reid himself can escape indictment.
Ensign came within 500 votes of toppling Reid in 1998. I think Dead Indians and Jimmy Hoffa (buried outside of Vegas) put Reid over the top.
Just as suspicious as the Muslim Messiah’s birth certificate, massive voter fraud, and corruption connected to ACORN. This one-sided political war will continue until the American people put a stop to it.

Reid did a good job of knocking out Jon Porter, Brian Krolicki, and Dbeers. Our only hope is for the economy to tank and with it the Dem brand, which might enable an unknown to defeat the leader of the worst Congress ever.

But, the wet noodle Republicans never fight to win in this state. I have 45 megs of clippings on all the Democrat scumbags here, and a lot of inside dirt. But every time I suggest using it to Repubs here, their sphincters pucker. You have to kneecap Reid if you want to win, and there is enough dirt to do it if someone is brave enough.
So never then? The average person has zero leverage anymore and 53% voted Obamalamadingdong and the entire new england region has no repub reps...

Krolicki got the jump on this and warned he would be the victim of a witch hunt/fishing expedition. The NV AG is a rodent hack (think Stumbo).
They could also end up disappearing in the desert and never being heard from again as well. Reid’s are as prolific as Udall’s, I expect we are doomed to having both families for years to come.

Reid has 54% disapproval, he could lose.
This guy seemed like the strongest candidate.
Now he’s through unless he’s exonerated. Charges sure look like trumped up BS.
