II Chronicles 19: 11b
Deal courageously, and the Lord shall be with the good.
As we prepare for the blessed holy day of Christmas, we ask that You would help us to make our hearts ready for Your greatest gift to us. Thank You, Father for fulfilling the promise of Your Word---for sending Jesus Christ to dwell with us on earthto live among us and to suffer and die for us. Bless our Christmas celebrations, Lord, and help us to keep our focus on You. We praise You, our Lord, the God of Israel, because You have come to redeem Your people. May we serve You without fear in holiness and righteousness all our days.
Our prayers are lifted up for our President, Father. Gratefully we thank You for these past eight years and for the leadership that he has provided our nation. Lord, he has faced trials far more difficult than any could imagine, and yet he has remained strong and steadfast because Your mighty hand has been upon him. We know there have been many occurrences which we did not fully comprehend, and yet we trust in You, Lord, to take care of them all. We thank You, Father, for giving President Bush the courage to face down terrorism and to set free a nations people. We thank You for the kindness, civility, and loving demeanor which our President has displayed as he carried out his duties. And now, Lord, we pray that this godly man would be blessed beyond measure for his faithfulness to You, and that You would give him and Laura new ways to serve You as they look ahead to a new chapter in their lives. May they be rewarded for the dignity and honor they restored to the White House, and for the steadfast faith they displayed in You as they served this nation.
May Your mighty presence cover every one of our troops and their families, Lord, as they continue to sacrifice greatly for our country and for people of other lands. Keep them watchful and fill them with faith as they face uncertain times and assignments. Please comfort their family members as they spend the holidays away from their loved ones. We ask You, Lord, to give our military leaders tremendous insight regarding the best way to defend America against terrorism.
Father, please convict the hearts of Your people to pray. We can only receive Your finest blessings if we turn our lives over to You. Hear the longings of each of our hearts as we present our requests unto You on behalf of our President, our nation, and our stalwart defenders in the military. We offer all our prayers in the Name of the Blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Please join us in prayer.
Dear Father in heaven, thank You for blessing us with the leadership of President Bush, a man of faith and humility. Please continue to bless him with Your Wisdom and Strength, I ask in the name of Jesus Your son.
Expectations! We all have them. We expect that people will be nice to us, that well have good health, great marriages, faithful friends, successful careers. But what do we do when life doesnt live up to our expectations? In Philippians 1, Paul shows us the way. He faced broken expectations of place, people, and the future, yet he remained surprisingly upbeat.
Paul was stuck in prisonnot a great place to be! When we get stuck in a tough marriage, an unrewarding job, or a challenging neighborhood, its easy to get discouraged. But Paul was wonderfully positive. He said that his suffering helped to advance the gospel (Phil. 1:12).
Maybe people havent lived up to our expectations. Paul likely expected other believers to encourage him. Instead, some were actually glad he was in jail and were preaching out of envy and strife (v.15). Pauls response? Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice (v.18).
Maybe its an uncertain futurethe loss of a spouse, a job transfer, or a health crisis. Paul knew that at any moment Nero might give the order for his execution, yet he declared, For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain (v.21).
Adopt Pauls only expectationfor Christ to be honored no matter what!
Amen.
Thank you for beautiful prayers.
This winter, as days grow shorter, some think that our days are growing shorter on this earth. We know not when Christ will come to conquer, finally, the scourges that have filled this earth since time began.
We must, minute by minute, be ready. We must listen for the sound of His voice in every heartbeat.
Every day could be our last “today”. Everlasting will mean no more darkness. Are you ready?
Oh, Amen and amen. We have been truly blessed and delivered.
I’m praying with you, Faith. May God continue to watch over and bless President and Mrs. Bush. God bless our nation and all those who pray with us. God bless them all.
Amen, Faith!!
Heavenly Father, I praise You and worship You because You are the Mighty God who knows everything and You are the One in control of everything. You are the God of Peace...thank You!Please watch over our country, president, military I pray in Jesus name ,amen.
