Obama hijacks GOP language on key issues

Borrowing a line from the Republican-revolution playbook of the 1990s, President-elect Barack Obama on Tuesday told the nation's governors that he wants them to reassert states as the laboratories for solutions to the nation's big problems.

"That's the spirit that I want to reclaim for the country as a whole," Mr. Obama told the National Governors Association, gathered in Philadelphia. "One where states are testing ideas, where Washington is investing in what works, and where you and I are working together in partnership on behalf of the great citizens of this nation."

Good for Obama, I guess, although it remains to be seen whether or not he means any of it. He support for FOCA would seem to indicate otherwise.

My only question: Between the War on Some Drugs, calls for constitutional amendments on abortion and same-sex "marriage," and No Child Left Behind, since when has the GOP endorsed federalism?

Ironically, while Obama hijacks the language of the GOP, Bush not only hijacked their language, but championed their issues.

Ya gotta love the humor.

NOTHING that President Suspect Obama can do before taking office — is as important as proving he is eligible to run for and hold the office of President..

I DEMAND proof that the bastard is in fact a natural born citizen of the United States...

Until then - he’s simply blowing smoke.

I can’t figure this guy out. He voted as a liberal in the Senate. He spoke as a moderate in the general election. He is picking relatively moderate cabinet and now speaking some Republican chatter. What is this guy? Is he going to be the first President in history to not govern by political party? This should be interesting to say the least.

Saul Alinsky takes the White House!

What better way to diffuse opposition than to take their own mantle and use it against them by seemingly being better at it then the opposition?

You can’t take your eye of Obama for a minute!

Maybe he'll use it the same way as the GOP. Lip service to the taxpayer as they rape them every which way.

We will figure him out when he moves into “actions speak louder than words” territory after January 20, 2009. You know the old saying, don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do.

And Britney Spears has championed mature behavior. I’ll believe her when I see her acting like an adult, and I’ll believe Obama when I see responsible government from him - which will be never in both cases.
