BUSH: ‘I DID NOT COMPROMISE MY PRINCIPLES’
President George W. Bush Says He Will Leave Office With ‘Head Held High’
ABCNews (interview with Charlie Gibson)
[The interview questions and edited news releases were predictably ‘gotcha’; however, even ABCNews couldn’t prevent the President and First Lady from coming across as the unbelievably warm, witty, and wise human beings we have all come to know and love!]

I posted the article about the interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson and President Bush. It only took about 4 posts when the Bush bashers came out and started bashing him.
Thanks for the link. I am listening her now play Dvorak Piano Quintet, 1st movement (part 2). I was just listening to part 1
UPDATE ON DAD
An up and down day. The oxygen problem seems to be resolved. They now have him on nasal oxygen only and his saturation is in high 90s. It may have been he was getting too much oxygen yesterday and because he was not wearing the mask all the time the figures were not showing that he needed less because basically they were recording them with him not using oxygen but did not realise it.
I suspect the frogs and birds may have been because he was getting too much oxygen.
Today they lifted him out by a hoist into a chair for about an hour.
He is drinking milk even helping himself to the occasional sip or 2, again showing more arm strength and coordination. With this and yesterday telling me the phone number of his friend in London it shows that mentally he is all there.
The down is that he is still very weak and having tremendous sweats 2 or 3 times a time which soak his bed clothes. He had one just before and during the time I left the hospital this evening.
He is very fretful when I am not there and so far tonight he has rung me twice, once about midnight UK time and once about 1.00am. This must mean he asks the nurse on duty tonight to assist him as he would not be able to dial the number on the phone by the bed. Please pray that she will not get cross with him if he asks again.
I think urgent prayers are that he can rest and be more peaceful when I am not there especially at night.
For continued prayer that he will regain his strength, the chest infection will slowly clear up completely and his appetite will return and he will not be afraid of certain foods not being digested properly.
On the subject of food I met with his dietitian today and she said they are aiming at 1700 calories per day, 1000 of which are from the overnight feed and 700 from other means. I managed to get a third of lunch down him and 5 spoons of evening meal that coupled with 2 - 3 cups of milk and half a resource shake I think we were nearly up to that today.
On the whole though things look as if he is slowly progressing, of course he is sill classed as seriously ill but the percentages are certainly going up. His consultant visited him today and said this that it would be a long job but he had improved since he saw him last
. . . which is precisely why I avoid other FR threads like the plague!
Please know that prayers are said for your father. Also for you, that you may feel confident and at peace that the medical personnel are doing what needs to be done. God Bless you both.
things are sounding much better, snugs!
I saw a small article on Breitbart earlier this evening about Dr Rice playing for the Queen. It had only one small picture. I’m glad you posted these, they are better.
Thanks also for the wonderful pictures of President & FL Laura Bush.
Thanks for a great Dose!
It's interesting about the oxygen. I wish I'd known this info when dealing with my Mom. I could have told her a why to what she was feeling. Knowing why always helps. I love the fact that they are getting your Dad to sit up--even if by hoist. He needs gravity to help him process his food--laying down all the time makes for bed sores, too. They didn't come in to turn my Mom enough, either. I'm also glad that he is doing what he can to "work out" --ANYTHING he can do to work his arms or legs or hands..whatever movement is possible, is GREAT. Doctors told me that at my Mom's age it would take twice the time she was down, to come back to full capacity. In otherwords, you rest, you rust...and it takes a long while to get back to yourself. Heck, when I was in the hospital for two weeks I lost EVERY bit of muscle tone--I had been really working out for months prior and then....yuck--and in only 2 weeks time! The sweats must be from his infection, huh? From a fever because of the infection??? Poor guy, but fevers were meant to help the body fight infection by raising the body temperature beyond what the bacteria can live in.
Have you asked your Dad why he frets so when you aren't there?...more like what exactly worries him?
Please keep reminding him of his progress. Concentrate on what he CAN do...only. Remind him he couldn't do ___ or ____ yesterday or two days ago, but he can now...help him see his progress. It really works.
God Bless you and your Dad snugs. Thanks so much, again, for keeping us all posted. We are there for you and want to help as much as we can.
Fox and Friends, or America’s Newsroom mentioned it this morning on FNC
I have not watched any TV News station since election night. I used to watch FOX, not anymore. I get my news here now. :)
Thanx for the ping.
Continued prayers, Eleanor. Thank you for the updates.
Glad to see that He received another award, always deserved!
So happy He gets to experience happy;relaxing honoring events like that!!! To counter the opposite treatment He undeservedly endures.
