The CTV.ca poll today, which isnt scientific so it doesnt matter, says 72% prefer the Conservatives to be in power.
CTV: Who would you prefer to govern the country? The Conservatives 72%; The NDP-Liberal coalition 28%
Cnews.canoe.ca indicates that 73% think what the Left is doing is either bad or treasonous, with most saying its treasonous.
What do you think about the oppositions move to take control of the Canadian Parliament? Its good 12% Its bad 30% Its within the rules 7% Its treasonous 43% It wont make any difference 7%
The last federal election...
P.S. Ask Santa up in the poll if he'll give Dion et all "Coal" for Christmas!
As if what the people want mattered to liberals.
Europe is turning to the right as is Canada and yet obama fooled millions and then got the voters to vote twice, used millions in illegal money , by the way of prepaid cards, got the media to lie for him and we now have a left wing party in charge.
How I wish the left would just all move back to their hell holes instead of branching out to our nicer red states
Maybe they should send the Obamanites some letters.
It’s treasonous to have a coalition government? fan-fan, can you please give us some historical perspective?
Harper must do whatever he can to stop this and get new elections called. If he achieves this, I am sure the Conservatives will win a majority government. The Canadian people are PISSED about this power grab mere weeks after the elections.
The constitution allows for the members of the House of Commons (Parliament) to vote a “non-confidence” motion in the government, and ask the Governor General to allow them to form the government.
The GG, as the Queen’s representative can agree, call and election or refuse.
I’ll post a bunch of links here in a second.
Wow it’s too bad you’re getting your left wing government anyway.
You guys in Canada sold your souls to the left (just like we here in America did). Now we all get to eat s**t...
There is Huge outrage.
Would this be the first coalition government in Canada’s history? I ask this out of ignorance.
I’m American, but I am pissed too; I had high hopes for our neighbors up north, it looks like that faith was placed too early becuase I didn’t realize the lengths that their liberals would go to achieve power (surprise, surpirse..). I guess they learned from Obama.
No, we had one in Ontario in 1985 between the NDP (”Buffalo” Bob Rae), and the Liberals (David Peterson).
Also, minority governments have historically fallen on non-confidence votes, but we almost always get an election.
The only time I know of that the GG appointed a group to run the country was in the King-Byng affair.
Cannot the Queen decline Royal Assent if this current maneuver is duplicitous? Again, out of ignorance.
There have been “duplicitous” situations before, even in my life time, and she never gets involved.
It is when you form a national government with the entirely regional "Bloc Québécois" Party. They ONLY run candidates in Quebec and are dedicated to breaking apart the Canadian dominion and establishing a French-only socialist Republic. They have no support outside Quebec and anyone who voted for them within Quebec did so with the specific intent that they would OPPOSE the national government of Canada, not join it.
Bringing the Bloc Québécois into a ruiling coalition with the Liberals & NDP to form a "majority government" over all in Canada is a slap in the face of the electorate and creates the exact opposite effect the voters had in mind when they cast their votes. Basically you will have a party that despises the other 10 proviences having veto-power over all their affairs and having the clout to impose French favoritism over the entire country, even though they only got 10% nationally. You have a party dedicated to the destruction of Canada being part of the new government of Canada, and its survival depends entirely on placating the minority faction dedicated to dismantling the country.
