Officials said drug paraphernalia, including syringes, was recovered from the scene of the attacks.
The heavily built men, who had undergone training at a special marine camp established by the Lashkar-e-Taibat (LeT) terrorist group in Pakistan, had also used steroids to build a tougher physique.
"We found injections containing traces of cocaine and LSD left behind by the terrorists and later found drugs in their blood," said one official.
"There was also evidence of steroids, which isn't uncommon in terrorists.
"These men were all toned, suggesting they had been doing some heavy training for the attacks. This explains why they managed to battle the commandos for over 50 hours with no food or sleep."
One terrorist used the drugs to keep on fighting despite suffering a life-threatening injury.

Likely the syringes had morphine, cocaine isn't that effective for pain relief.
This is classic AQ planning, we saw the same thing for the muj in Fallujah.

Wow. Smart. If you are going to be killing machine shooting for effectiveness in the shortest period of time without care for your own life, this is good planning. I had no idea steriods were being used by these men. Makes sense though. The LSD, I do not really get though.
In small doses, it is an effective stimulant and appetite supressant, but measuring the dose between 'effective stimulant' and 'tripping' isn't easy under ideal circumstances.
So, it still doesn't make sense really.
LSD: religious experience. As the high comes on they experience directly Allah, removing all doubt that they are doing gods work. Otherwise I think people get revulsion at what they are doing and blow their brains out like the sick puppies at Columbine.
Just a theory. Nothing whatsoever to back it up.

I wouldn’t have guessed LSD or cocaine. My guess would have been Methamphetamine. It was developed for Nazi soldiers during WW-II, and it can keep a user amped and battle-ready for 2+ days. And it is simple to manufacture using easy-to-obtain materials.
It takes three guys my size to tackle a user who is amped on Methamphetamine: they get superhuman strength and feel no pain, only violent rage.
Coke doesn’t do that, and LSD doesn’t provide the clarity of thought that these terrorists had.
Nope: I don’t believe this report, not for one minute. I say these terrorists were on Methamphetamine.
I can’t picture Muslims taking acid. It certainly wouldn’t have helped their physique.
Cocaine not only is a very effective physical stimulant and appetite suppressant, but greatly increses feelings of personal power and self-assurance.

As someone who used to take large doses of LSD, I can only imagine it was so they could look out the windows and say "Dude, look at the pretty colors."
