Calling the 2008 elections a repudiation of Republicans, President Bush shouldered at least some of the blame for his partys poor results in November.
Im sure some people voted for [President-elect] Barack Obama because of me, the outgoing president said.

You know the man down the street is a truly humble, decent and honest man, but that does not a President make. When are you Rino bushbots going to realize that your humble, decent, honest man by his inactions and even poorer actions gave this country to the socialists for years into the future.
These are mere statements. Reagan could say the same thing and be 100% correct.
I firmly believe that the immigration debate really didn’t show the true nature of America as a welcoming society, Bush said of the harsh rhetoric that raged on Capitol Hill before the 2006 elections. I fully understand we need to enforce law and enforce borders. But the debate took on a tone that undermined the true greatness of America, which is that we welcome people who want to work hard and support their families.
Translation: I still mean it. Opponents were racist bigots. My paymasters may want to depress wages more, but they are “great”. We are not “welcoming” with only letting in one million people a year.
There are liberals who aren’t happy about it. But they will hold their tongues. AS they did for 12 years regarding the Clintons.
Bingo! GWB's worst failing was to allow his office, the American Presidency, to become a leaderless, spineless, rudderless laughingstock in the eyes of the public.
A lot of Bushbots, including those whose views I genuinely respect, are of the belief that he had to nobly sacrifice his popularity to conduct the war, but I just don't buy it. I cannot attribute to conspiracy what can very simply be explained by incompetence.
I judge the next worst thing about GWB's Presidency to be the fact that his agenda has been successfully equated with "conservatism" by the media. With a very few exceptions, his actions were far from conservative.
“When President Bush is asked what he plans to do when he leaves office, he often replies curtly: I dont have that much time to think beyond my presidency or Im going to sprint to the finish.
But in an interview with a book author in the Oval Office one day last December, he daydreamed about the next phase of his life, when his time will be his own.
First, Mr. Bush said, Ill give some speeches, just to replenish the ol coffers. With assets that have been estimated as high as nearly $21 million, Mr. Bush added, I dont know what my dad gets its more than 50-75 thousand dollars a speech, and Clintons making a lot of money. “

There’s the “honorable” man.
Let’s not forget the ACORN effect.
You said a mouthful right there. The word "sustainable" gets bandied about in politics quite a bit of late but you never hear it in reference to bringing in a million immigrants a year. Regardless, it is not sustainable and we are going to get our education on this issue at the "School of Hard Knocks"
Yes, so much for his humility. He plans to make millions while most Americans have lost their retirement monies while he was in office.
It is very sad indeed.
SCOTUS, WOT, abortion, whatever. You showed ‘em. *spit*
I wasn't one of them but I don't begrudge those 5 mil for doing so.
The number may even increase next time if a genuine conservative isn't at the top of the ticket.
Saying these people hated McCain more than they love America, or that they are responsible for Obama's victory will be of no benefit to the GOP and certainly will not help in reaching a solution to the 'Republican problem', and it makes one appear petty and foolish to falsely cast these malicious allegations.
SCOTUS, WOT, abortion, whatever. You showed em.
>>>>>>>>>>>...........
LOL now I know what it means when they say: You can fool some of the people...WOT forced on him, Scotus fought conservatives and tried to appoint another liberal female
as for abortion maybe, but billions $$ for Aids in of all places Africa..I know BS when i see it and I sure see it
in your post.
Name calling, labeling .. sad.
Got it.
And, yes I understand that some here love Socialism as long as it is forced upon you by a Republican.
“I understand that some here love Socialism as long as it is forced upon you by a Republican.”
>>>>>>>>>.......................
ditto, thats why I have left the GOP..may it rot.
some here still think the GOP can be changed I do not
Lets hope a conservative party can arise from the ashes of this election.
I agree.
