No seriously, I think you’re right. I think his first major briefing was an “oh crap!” moment and his actions since then have reflected that.
He’s still wrong on many levels. But I think having reality stare him in the face may just be making him less radical.

What exactly is he going to do differently than Bush? The idea that he can come up with a plan that will eliminate terrorism during his 4 or 8 years is just stupid. This is going to be a long war and we will win by fighting them whenever and wherever we can, but it won’t happen quickly and there is no magic bullet.
