File this one under Deluded Expectations. During MSNBCs coverage of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, on Thursday, daytime anchor Alex Witt seemed frustrated that the election of Barack Obama 23 days earlier and the accompanying global outpouring of affection, respect, hope had not caused an end to terrorist violence.
Talking with correspondent John Yang, who was covering the Obama side of the story, Witt conceded that while you certainly cant expect things to change on a dime overnight....There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought at least hoped would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.

Pretty easy for me to imagine. Look at whom our fellow Americans just elected President.
Doesn't his last name begin with a "T"?
Yes, they can, if they are fed daily dose of commie propaganda by "American" media.
Yup, I’ve been screaming since before the election, forget the economic crisis, this country has a rather FAR MORE profound mental health crisis on it’s hands!
The election simply further confirmed it.
IF there would still be a majority of people voting for the zero after ACORN fraud was removed, then we’d know for certain the kooks are officially now running the asylum.
Can these people really be this stupid?
It is consistent with their worldview.
When a person commits a crime, it’s because of an institutional failure, and conversely, if the right institutions were in place, with the right people in charge,
there would be no crime.
They thought Barry was THE answer/solution.
Sounds like a graduate of the school of self-esteem.
WTF did he expect??? Of course there’s going to be un upsurge in terror now that a weak dhimmi has been “elected.”
And BTW, haven’t the murders in Chicago stopped yet, now that Barry is going to Washington?!???
They were wrong.
What's that word?.. Ah yes.
SCHADENFREUDE!
Alex Witt = The lights are on, but nobody’s home.
I feel bad for the tens of thousands who will die, who otherwise would not have.
No it isn’t.
And they don't know the words to "Kum-by-a", and they're not will to learn.
Did the false messiah disappoint his followers? Could the kool-aid effect be wearing off?
This is a very good example of the completely delusional worldview fostered by the media-industrial complex and its detestable allies in the academic world. One local media-conformist suggests in all seriousness that “we should bomb them with FOOD” as a way to end terrorism. Another whines that “the poor Palestinians just need a place to live.”
They really believe that terrorism is our fault, or, more accurately, they feel a compelling need to claim that they have such a belief. It is their default position and they will cling to it regardless of facts or events.
Facts and events don’t matter to the media-conformist left. Their worldview is a fantasy ideology, it is not driven by facts or by what the believer may or may not perceive as objective reality (assuming that they have such perceptions at all). It is driven by the ideological script, the compelling need to conform to the fantasy ideology as a statement of identity and affiliation.
It is important to understand that this worldview is an artifact of media culture, and not a product of genuine political ideology. Many conservatives like to say that the “MSM” are the propaganda arm of the Democratic party. I contend that it is really the other way round: the Democratic Party is the political arm of the media-industrial complex. The political left has not hijacked the media, the media culture has hijacked the left.
And there you have it folks!....the deluded world of liberalism!
Moonbats will be moonbats.
