MUMBAI: The Muslim Council on Sunday decided not to allow burial of the bodies of the nine terrorists killed during the Mumbai siege in the Marine Lines Bada Qabrastan (cemetery).

The council said it was trying to send a message to all cemeteries in India that none of the bodies should be buried on Indian soil.

Bhai Jagtap, a Congress MLA from VP Road-JJ constituency, told TOI some Muslim organisations had approached him demanding that the terrorists should not be buried in any cemetery in India.

"Considering their sentiments, I am trying to get in touch with deputy CM R R Patil and other senior leaders. I will forward this message to the state government," said Jagtap. The council authorities have handed over a letter to the Marine Lines cemetery in this regard.

In 2003, a Pakistani national killed in an encounter was buried in a Mumbai cemetery. This time, it has been decided not to allow burial of the terrorists because of the gravity of the attack. However, other Muslims organisations are yet to take a decision on the issue.

I think the Indian government should cremate the bodies and mix the ashes with hog feed. Then the dead terrorists will become hog poo.

Nevermind that the gesture is really only symbolic and is unlkely to stop future attacks: they have taken a stance, and it does have practical implications: where are the stinking corpses of the dead terrorists going to be disposed of, and how?

I say 'good on whoever the police sharpshooters are who dispatched the dead muslims', they (the dead muzzies) got it, unfortunately too late for their victims.

Naturally it's good to see some Muslims denounce such acts of violence, however until they recognize and have a spiritual revelation that their entire religious death-cult is based upon lies and deception and leads them not to paradise, but straight to Hell, they will remain unwitting enablers and accessories to such terrorist acts.

Ann Coulter was right, we need to invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.

It's a start. I'm not all that trusting, so my first thought is to wonder about the percentage of muslims in the Indian population and suspect it is very low. None the less, it is something I can agree with even if it doesn't go far enough.

I don't get that from the article at all. In fact it could just as easily be read that the refusal of Muslim organizations to approve burial on Indian soil is a sign of solidarity with the terrorists. They may well consider Indian soil to be "unclean."

If I were president I would mandate our soldiers bullets be dipped in pig fat! At least our special forces,, and any terrorists bodies be wrapped in pig fat as well and buried in a dump.

Actually, my first thought was that the stance was practical. Who wants the kind of attention that would bring to their cemetery? Would there be desecrations? Disruptions of other (later) interments? Would it become a favorite hangout of BJP teens?
