The New York Times, the New York Daily News, Newsday, U.S.A Today, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and a host of other news organizations recently reported that gun sales across the country increased 10 percent after Barack Obama defeated John McCain. Many of the gun shop owners that were interviewed on camera stated they had never seen sales increase to this level in 15 to 20 years.
Those purchasing guns said they were doing so because of a growing fear that the spiraling economy will force desperate people to commit criminal acts. Others bought them because they believe an Obama Administration would move quickly to ban certain guns or attempt to limit their sales in United States. These are legitimate explanations that warrant serious investigation, but I believe there is one more valid explanation for the phenomenal surge that no one is bothering to discuss: the planned assassination of President Barack Obama.
Strangely, what the news agencies failed to report was that although many purchases involved commonly used handguns, the weapons that were being snatched off the shelves in record numbers were high-powered assault rifles, most notably the AR 15! On "The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric", one of the buyers looked right into the camera and said, "A man's got to protect his home and his property." Okay, here's my question. Who does this fool expect to break into his house? Bigfoot? I'm sorry, but that milk smells spoiled and I'm not buying it! Am I the only one that thinks there is something very, very wrong here?
In my honest opinion, anyone that purchases a high-powered, military-linked assault rifle has an agenda. Period!

Well that’s a super difference. You’re asking the difference between a flintlock musket and a repeater rifle, whereas the more likely (albeit flints certainly were still in heavy usage, being durable) would be percussion musket vs. repeater.
This guy is a flake big time. His articles are all about race, THE ONE, Bush sucks, The GOP sucks, etc. And talk about narcissism! This guy really thinks he's all that.
I really thought he might be doing what you suggest but after reading G-Man’s garbage, I realize he's just another pot stirrer as far as race goes, and I want that 45 minutes of my life back that I just wasted reading his crap.;^)
This is clearly the start of a push for very restrictive gun control. The mediots are going to stir up a public frenzy about hate, etc...
spot on assessment of the author!
The night they were caught, a FReeper who lives on the mountain near there posted a late night spooky “Hey guys...I-70 is shut down and there are cops/choppers are everywhere” kind of comment.
He must have watched it all happening.
*Much* later, it was all over the the news.
That was probably the most “OMG!” thread I’ve seen since 9-11.
I’m [insert chirping cricket sound effects]...
Just remember “he” sid it, and even wrote it down...
Has anyone here in the entire FR domain ever planned (much less mentioned) to assasinate the president of the United States???
I think they would be quickly banned for saying, much less implying as such...
REmember all the bigotry has been brought up by Obama’s folks...Not anyone I know...
Obama's Civilian Defense Force.
And no, I'm not joking.
Most here know that Joe Biden, acting as POTUS following the assassination of our first black President would be the worst thing to happen to our rights. It's only the sloping forehead crowd that wants to precipitate the race war they're always ranting about that would actually desire an assassination. And this asshat author is trying to lump everyone with an AR, AK, FAL, blah, blah, blah, in with them. I'd say someone has an agenda, but it ain't me. What I have is a contingency plan.
Is she shooing squirrels off the deck rail?
The Second Amendment guarantees us the right to bear arms so we can shoot agents of any government that tries to shoot us for shooting our mouths off in free political speech.
Got nothing to do with hunting deer, bear, birds, or elephants. The only "sporting" aspect of the Second Amendment is to give citizens a fair chance against a tyrannical government, whether foreign or domestic, should the need arise.

Yep. I was just acting like “a typical white person”.
I once destroyed a Navy carrier task force with an AR-15 and two 30-round clips. I sank the carrier, two missile cruisers and four destroyers, after shooting down the covering air group.
Then I woke up...
Actually, that’s my choice - after much training, deliberation, and $. Higher capacity, lighter weight, faster cycle time, shorter barrel (indoor CQB), suppressor, low over-penetration, range suitable for anything I can see (~30m max). Key is having heavy (Mk262) fragmenting rounds.
To the author’s contention: if you need to apply it, you won’t want anything less than an AR15 (yes, bigger/heavier if you can maneuver it fast enough).
The 7.62 (scoped) is for serious outdoor use.
So WE ALL want to buy more arms because we want to take out Obama? So we’re all gonna take him out? Wow that’s alot of race hatred (what the “g” man is implying).
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
“Who does this fool expect to break into his house? Bigfoot?”
True story: A Bigfoot of similar complexion as the author crawled halfway through my friend’s bathroom window at 3:00 AM. My friend pointed an evil Winchester .30-30 lever-action assault rifle at the Bigfoot’s head and convinced him to leave through the same broken window by which he came. I admire my friend’s constraint.
Not anymore, it's not!
I don’t know if I could SEE anything at 300 meters, much less shoot it...
