Elderly, disabled man attacked and robbed

SPOKANE, Wash - Spokane Police Officers are looking for three men who robbed and assulted an elderly disabled man. Police responded to a robbery report call yesterday in reference to a robbery that occurred on Friday 11/29/08 at about 2:30 in the afternoon. They say the 87 year old victim, disabled and confined to a wheelchair, just purchased some groceries and was west bound on Mission near Hamilton when attacked. He reported three black males stopped him and attacked with a hammer and a knife, stealing his groceries. The victim did receive several injuries including a number of cuts to his face and neck. He did receive medical treatment. The victim described the suspects as all three being black males, 18-20 years of age, 5'8'' to5'10', thin to medium builds, at least one with facial hair (possibly a goatee) and wearing baggie pants and greenish brown hoodies. They were last seen running north bound from Mission with the victim's groceries. Spokane Police would greatly appreciate anyone with information about this crime to call 911 or 242-TIPS.

I believe elderly, disabled people should be at the top of the list for gun permit approval. Enough of this nonsense, people need to shoot if they are vulnerable to attack. These criminals are cowards.

Regardless of the race, it is a shame the victim was not allowed to be armed. He could have done society three favors.

One of the few stories that I've seen where the race of perps is listed if they are black or hispanic. May be that the victim is black too. Makes him no less a victim. 87 yrs old in a wheel chair...I guess these eunuchs have to prove their manhood in the manner mandated by their culture.

If I was him, I'd get a gun, and carry it concealed, permit or no permit, legal or not, and if those same punks tried to rob me again, they'd get a big bang surprise.

No jury would convict me and if they did I'd be on easy street (I could demand special privileges in jail being old and disabled) in the prison. I'd ask to be in solitary and spend the rest of my time reading my Bible in my cell.

Why wouldn’t he have been allowed to be armed? Spokane’s a relatively easy city in which to get a concealed carry.
