Palin Remains Threat to Liberals/Democrats

Hebert wants her to shut up or shut down. Do we need any more proof that we are inching ever closer to the Democrats' thought-police mentality?

If he cannot silence Sarah, he wants to redefine her as "incompetent," "dumb," "air-headed" and a "hillbilly."

Democrats have seen Sarah's story before, and it scares them to death.

They will stop at nothing to extinguish this threat in its infancy.

They know they lost the heart and soul of America when another governor, Ronald Reagan, burst upon the national scene and changed the course of history, crushing their liberal agenda.

Like Herod versus the baby Jesus, in their view Sarah is a threat justifying every, and all, countermeasures.

We now see Hebert and his fellow Herods will stop at nothing to destroy Sarah Palin.

Democrats used such tactics against Reagan.

He was stupid, they said. Dumb. Ignorant. A hick from Eureka College.

Fortunately for us, we didn't buy their thought-police control tactics. We listened.

And Reagan turned out to be the world's most influential politician in the last half century.

I say let freedom ring. Let Sarah speak and be heard.

Let us see what mettle this scrappy young woman is made of.

If she is weak, why fear her voice? If what she espouses is false, let it fail in the light of day.

Americans do not fear the truth. But, I must ask of Democrats: Is the truth what you fear?

There is a feeling of destiny around her. Like she was sent to us for a time such as these.

I agree and I don't think we're alone with that thought and this is not a matter of being star struck.

The fact that she did not abort her Down’s Syndrome baby has scrambled the liberal brain. The existence of such a woman is so threatening to them that they can not allow her to exist.

No, she isn’t Regan. Regan had a lifetime of experience behind him when he became President. Granted, Sarah is younger. They also approached the political arena from different backgrounds.

Nonetheless, she is quite accomplished for a woman of her years, and she has time on her side. Her political history in Alaska alone shows unusual grit and competence.

And in two ways she is very much like Regan. She knows how to connect to the people and she is true to her conservative values.

She’s no Regan, but I’m convinced Regan would heartily approve.

Plain is a natural politician, able as a campaiger to outshine someone like Huckabee. We wil, of course, see if she has what it takes, but you must admit that the attacks on her by the Left —and by the right intelligensia — are irrational.

She is coming to Georgia (Atlanta, Augusta, Savannah, Macon) Sunday night/all day Monday for rallies supporting Saxby Chambliss in his US Senate seat runoff. Betcha she draws BIG crowds, lots of enthusiasm, and Saxby is already favored to win comfortably. She will get credit for the assist...and one wonders why she would do this if she did not have 2012 ambitions...stay tuned.

Someone should come up with a little inch-long likeness of Sarah Palin, on a neck chain, and market it as “Liberal Repellant”.

I'm just a Guy. All Guy.

A getting older getting grayer Guy. I'm a flaming heterosexual kind of Guy.

I'm a self made Guy. I'm the kind of Guy who made it good....lost it....then made it good again....several times over. I'm not a gambler...just a Guy who looked at opportunties and took a shot!

I won some.....I lost some.

But this Guy is still here.

I'm going to make another investment in my instinct.

I want to be around when I might meet Sarah Palin...and say hello....Madam President.

------"The most frustrating thing about this election was how the McCain team screwed up the introduction of Sarah Palin to the nation."-----------

Agree in spades. We saw a few glimpses of Sarah being Sarah, but she had to squeeze herself into the McCain party line and it doesn't fit so well.

She's not Reagan, yet. Give her time, she's got his core values and connects like RR did. She reeks common sense, imho.

The fact is that they do fear her a great deal. They feared her before she was even named to McCain's ticket. Many of them said that she would be the worst possible candidate to run against.

Take a listen to this podcast of the PBS show "To the Point" from April 2008. They interviewed Palin, and afterwards, the Dems on the panel were blown away by her. One of the panelists, U.S. House Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), was absolutely wowed by Palin and started throwing out lines like, "You better embrace this woman quick!", "That is a VERY attractive candidate!", "She's just what your party needs!", and "that was some McCain straight talk you just got from that girl!".

The stupid Democrats think that she's a joke. The smart ones are frightened by her. The stupid ones believe the lies they read about her. The smart ones write and broadcast those lies. It would be a shame if conservatives fell prey to these lies too. We've got a real winner here. We should allow her to be thrown under the straight talk express bus just because McCain ran a bad campaign in a bad year for Republicans.

All this talk about her not appealing to anyone but social conservatives is nonsense. Alaska is a fundamentally libertarian state. You don't get 90% approval ratings in Alaska by governing as a theocrat! (and you don't get them by writing blank checks either -- they like fiscal conservatism up there! They are serious about it, and they see Sarah Palin as a fiscal conservative for a reason. They know her fiscal record and it's quite impressive.) She has never sought to impose her social conservative or religious beliefs through government. She is clear about her own values, but she does not seek to impose them. She is famous for being a strict constructionist when it comes to the Alaska state constitution. She will not do anything that infringes on that constitution. She is no theocrat nutjob and all attempts to paint her as such are intellectually dishonest. I'd be happy to argue this point more fully if anyone still questions this point.

McCain and Huckabee each drew 2,000 people for Saxby. Romney drew 300 for Saxby. Bill Clinton drew 3,000 for Martin. Al Gore drew 500 for Martin. Let’s see if Palin can outdraw all of the men combined.

Agreed. Sarah will be heard from. I like Mitt, but he’s proven he can’t close the deal. Love Jindahl, but he’s not interested in ‘12....I sincerely believe him. There could be a serious (ie: high pressure) draft Jindahl movement, but bottom line is Sarah likely wants it, and Jindahl likely doesn’t.

I use the Doonesbury comic as a good indicator of the liberal playbook. It continues to attack Palin, so I know they are worried about her.

It will be interesting to see how much money is raised at the fundraiser she is attending in Georgia tonight (Sunday.) Then tomorrow 4 scheduled rallies. With the runoff election on Tuesday, also that day she will be in Philadelphia attending a governors meeting with obama. I’m sure she will upstage him, so we can look for a lot of Palin Derangement Syndrome for the entire week.
