And so if the ‘intellectuals’ of NY had any intelligence at all, they'd learn the same lessons that have been taught wherever Socialism has been tried. Socialism is parasitic. It does not generate its own wealth, only leeches off of those that do. When they lose their revenue, they can either privative, communize, or take over the wealth and resources of other nations.

Socialism is nothing more than a crossroads.

Chuck Schumer was instrumental in helping Barney Frank loot Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to fund their affordable housing subsidies for the poor.

New York- will not cut taxes, will not stop spending, believes it is entitled to endless supplies of cash, like a addict, hooked things will get worse. Going after the Indians for their taxes is coming, people will get killed.

This is what you get with Democrats.

Perhaps this is another reason the SoS position looks attractive to Hillary? Quit the NY Senate seat before the SHTF and not be held responsible.

Whatever needs to happen, won’t. States will take their cues from the fantasy land that is the Federal Government.

this is why a progressive tax system isn’t just a disincentive to growth, it is simply not fiscally responsible to rely on a few people for most of your revenue. The ideal tax system should have the broadest tax base possible with the lowest rate.

When I visit friends in NYS I notice the everyone works for the government one way or another, or is disabled.

Neighboring New Jersey, another state owned and operated by the education mafia, is likely to be hit nearly as hard as New York. I just hope the scumbags who flee those two states don’t come to Pennsylvania and bring their Democrat voting habits with them. We have enough of that garbage here already, thank you. I wish we could build a wall.

Big deal. This is a good thing. Now they can fire half the worthless do-nothing government slugs, and slash benefits to the rest until they are in line with private sector.

One thing that is never mentioned is the HUGE population of illegal aliens in New York City and around the state that is sucking dry public resources.
Emergency rooms are filled with them and they never pay for services-we do. They receive welfare benefits and siphon the Medicaid system. A large portion of the prison population (at least a third) are illegals.
They almost all drive without a license and insurance.
They are primarily Dominican, Jamaicans, Mexicans, Chinese, Russians, Pakistanis and Koreans (some areas of Queens have so many Koreans that there is not a sign in English on any store)
They use up the scarce housing in this city and fill many of the remaining factory jobs in the state-some with good salaries and everyone in power in New York pretends they don’t exist, especially Mayor Doucheberg.
Eliminate this problem and New York and many of the state’s problems would be solved.

“Indeed, Paterson recently wavered on whether he’ll ultimately sign off on the kind of income tax increase that he rejected earlier in the year. Assembly Democrats, under the leadership of Speaker Sheldon Silver, have passed two versions of a “millionaire tax” this year, the latest of which would raise the top rate by nearly 2 full percentage points.”

What makes them think that the people that would get the tax increase would stay in NY. No incentive to stay with WS in the tank. Amen
