The Republicans, at every political level, continue to have very difficult times winning in all of the blue states, so having decent conservatives running in all of the blue states may still continue to lead to big losses by them in ‘10, ‘12, and beyond. Since the 1950’s, having decent conservatives running in Massachusetts hasn’t worked out very well in most circumstances, and conservatives remain clueless about what to do about states like Massachusetts other than vote with their feet and try again elsewhere. I fear that this same pattern of “conservative losing streaks” from within Massachusetts is now beginning to go national, starting in ‘09.
Yes you’re right. The mantra of “just replace RINOs with conservatives” is not enough. These must be conservatives who can speak, persuade and have cross-over appeal. Not easy.
Very, very true there John: sad, but true. The libs are counting on it and are doing their best to pack both cities and suburbs with like minded people (thus their obsession with public transportation & housing)) versus ex-urban/rural populations. We should be worried: very, very worried, because the numbers are only increasing against us.
