When terrorists attack, media analysts go into Sherlock Holmes mode, metaphorically prowling the crime scene for footprints, as if the way to solve the mystery is to add up all the clues. The Mumbai gunmen seized British and American tourists. Therefore, it must be an attack on Westerners!
Not so, said Newsweek's Fareed Zakaria. If they'd wanted to do that, they'd have hit the Hilton or the Marriott or some other target-rich chain hotel. The Taj and the Oberoi are both Indian-owned, and popular watering holes with wealthy Indians.
OK, how about this group that's claimed responsibility for the attack? The Deccan Mujahideen. As a thousand TV anchors asked Wednesday night, "What do we know about them?"
Er, well, nothing. Because they didn't exist until they issued the press release. "Deccan" is the name of the vast plateau that covers most of the triangular peninsula that forms the lower half of the Indian subcontinent. It comes from the Prakrit word "dakkhin," which means "south." Which means nothing at all. "Deccan Mujahedeen" is like calling yourself the "Continental Shelf Liberation Front."

The early Christian's did much murdering,converting,and enslaving—but it was against the will of Christ as written in the Gospel.
They eventually reformed and became closer to the original intent of Christ--much like when the Satanic horror of Roe v Wade is overturned. The same cannot be said of most other founders of other faiths.
And the Western MSM - including BBC *and* the Mumbai IBN channel - is cooking up angles to blame America ("a targeted attack on America carried out on Indian soil").
Despite the fact that less than 1/2 of 1 percent of those killed were Americans, and the *combined* American/Brit/Aussie casualty count is even less than that.
If anyone was "targeted", it was Indian hotel employees and Indian train commuters.

The first stop for several of the 9/11 hijackers was a mosque in San Diego, and then the Dar al Hijra mosque in Falls Church Virginia, where they made their contacts to get phony ID and IIRC other rumored aid and comfort such as perhaps temporary housing.
The convicted “paintball jihadis” (who all received big jailtime in federal prison) were all members of the same mosque, a “more radical” one also in Falls Church.
Also recall that the Iraqi-Jewish-American woman who did much early investigatory work for the FBI found Dar al Hijra mosque to be a jihadi hotbed, even the imam preached violent hatred toward America.
Plus ... security at the Taj had been greatly relaxed just a few weeks ago. Who ordered this to be done and why? Seems like there were infiltrators or sympathizers in high places.
Steyn is correct. Political Correctness is what will eventually destroy us. If you can't even deign to identify the enemy, you sure can't defeat it.
Electing Obama and more Liberals will just multiply this problem manyfold as America slides downhill and closer to the final abyss.

Not likely in Texas or Alabama.
Sure, they might could get the initial explosion off, but as soon as the Tangos came through the place shooting the survivors they would be quickly ventilated by angry gun-toting men and women who have concealed carry permits.
In defense of reporters (and there's something you won't find me doing very often!) this idea was started in the courts. Defense lawyers (possibly the only creature lower than terrorists) started the idea that reporting facts might infringe someone's right to a fair trial by poisoning the jury pool.
So it's now considered responsible to sprinkle words like "suspected" and "alleged" through every story, completely at random.
Bush Jr. thinks this is great; and Obama, aided by idiots like McCain, will no doubt actually accelerate this flow of poison.
I read everyone of Mark Steyn’s columns that I can find but I really enjoy hearing him talk most of all. Does anyone have a computer link to a regular site by Mark or where he is featured frequently where we can hear him on a regular basis?

My memory, for what it’s worth, is that Mark is on in the 3 o’clock hour on Thursdays, but don’t hold me to that one.

But not impossible. Harbor areas are large and movement is not entirely monitored. Besides we have this convenient land connection available. It’s called Mexico.
They could be here and in fact probably are already. Merely awaiting the time and target coordination.
I once told a girl to stay off of 34th St. in Manhattan. That she could easily use either side street to her destination. She said she couldn’t live like that. I said there was nothing to give up other than less shops.
In my mind for years, I’ve seen it would be simple to have a van with gunmen doing the same damage in Mumbai with just the rear doors open.
The only thing stopping it I believe is that the Islamic terrorists don’t feel it’s sufficient. They want to kill more and not appear so pedestrian.
Have still believed that the Herald Square subway system and Penn Station right there are major targets. Finally a plan from a “reliable source” has confirmed it too and the public was at least told.
