The FBI has come a long way in CT since 9-11. I hope they can spot these types of groups before they can pull one of these major ops. The lack of major attacks on the USA since 2001 tells me they can.

Of course, common sense in general, and particularly coming from Mark Steyn, will be completely ignored by the leftists, all of whom are busy right now trying to figure out a way to give the muzzies a pass for this latest atrocity, this latest crime against humanity.

Two very busy groups:

1) Muzzies murdering innocents.

2) Lefties working up apologies.

Its just a matter of time till BO issues a statement suggesting that better treatment and sharing the wealth would have prevented this.

The Islamic imperialist project is a totalitarian ideology: It is at war with Hindus, Jews, Americans, Britons, everything that is other.

Despite all the points made in this article, we still play the politically correct game in this country. Several times at airports I've seen "random searches" of typical Americans while Arab-looking students went unchecked. Heaven forbid that we profile an Arab-looking male (or female) between the ages of 19 and 35 even though we know that 100% of all terrorist acts are committed by persons with these demographic characteristics.

Our gov't and the ACLU is going to politically-correct you and I into an early grave.

Islamic imperialists want an Islamic society, not just in Palestine and Kashmir but in the Netherlands and Britain, too. Their chances of getting it will be determined by the ideology's advance among the general Muslim population, and the general Muslim population's demographic advance among everybody else.

Well, as they say "You get more flies with honey than with vinegar". Islam clearly wants to spread, and through vinegar -- terrorism and violence -- they've done fairly well.

The West needs to start shutting down mosques and expelling Muslims. Not a citizen? Get out.

Perhaps Islam would then try to spread through honey -- no violence, just contributing to the society in which they live, just like everyone else.

Western prejudice and discrimination against Islam as a religion should be encouraged.

“So Bush is history, and we have a new president who promises to heal the planet, and yet the jihadists don’t seem to have got the Obama message that there are no enemies, just friends we haven’t yet held talks without preconditions with. This isn’t about repudiating the Bush years, or withdrawing from Iraq, or even liquidating Israel. It’s bigger than that. And if you don’t have a strategy for beating back the ideology, you’ll lose.”

BUMP! Love you, Mr. Steyn!

BINGO!

“But we’re in danger of missing the forest for the trees. The forest is the ideology. It’s the ideology that determines whether you can find enough young hotshot guys in the neighborhood willing to strap on a suicide belt or (rather more promising as a long-term career) at least grab an AK-47 and shoot up a hotel lobby. Or, if active terrorists are a bit thin on the ground, whether you can count at least on some degree of broader support on the ground. You’re sitting in some distant foreign capital but you’re of a mind to pull off a Mumbai-style operation in, say, Amsterdam or Manchester or Toronto. Where would you start? Easy. You know the radical mosques, and the other ideological front organizations. You’ve already made landfall.”

They hit Indian-owned hotels because that is where their fellows could infiltrate easily and provide access and assistance to the terrorists.

American-owned hotels like the Hilton and Marriott take these matters very seriously overseas.

As always, Steyn effortlessly makes a definitive argument for his point of view-—but he doesn’t touch the idea that
the timing may be an attempt to get in under the wire in the changing of Administrations. OR a test, done with enough “lag-time” til Jan. 20, to elicit some response from the new AMerican President. So far, correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t heard anything from Obama about this.
If he continues silent, or offers just cliches, or marginalizes this as a local Indian/Asian problem, that will speak volumes. My guess is that there IS an element of “test” in this Mumbai mayhem. They are waiting to see whether we rush to mobilize beefed-up safety measures in our cities. So far, I believe I heard a little something about “more police at malls”. After all, Christmas shopping has already begun. And yesterday, “Black Friday”
proved we are only too capable ourselves of mini-acts of fatal terrorism that have nothing to do with ideology—there should have been police AT THAT WAL-MART controlling the stampeding crowd.

Entering the country by sea was the novel element.

It would be hard to do into the US, because the Coast Guard is constantly looking for suspicious boats and searching them for drugs.

Unfortunately, Mark Steyn will be writing several "I told you so" articles in the future

What if Christ had commanded His followers to murder, convert or enslave the infidel?

IMO,the pagans of Europe would have killed Paul a thousand times.

Savage faiths for savage people and by the time of Paul, the Europeans had already had enough of savagery. In short, they were primed for civilization.

Islam has bloody borders. Non-Islamic countries, or parts of countries such as Israel, southern Sudan, Lebanon, Checenia and India that border Islamic areas have endemic problems with terrorism. Even countries that are nearly %100 Muslim such as Iraq have problems with rival sects going after each other. The USA could easily sidestep this problem, at least for the time being, by sensible immigration controls if we didn't have open border immigration fanatics and the ACLU insisting that such controls would be a violation of civil rights.
