You said — “It’s a freakin VOLCANO and no one can figure out why the glacier is retreating?”

But hasn’t it always been a volcano? If so, then that’s a constant and a given and wouldn’t relate to the retreating glacier...

Being a volcano doesn’t mean the glacier will retreat. In fact, Mt. St. Helens is a volcano, too, and active — but — a glacier has built up there.

Al Gore’s premise is based upon incompetent computer modeling. The “hockey stick” graph is not accurate. The “scientists” cooked the books. CO2 follows warming, it does not lead it. The polar bear pictures were not the truth, they are fine; the Maldives are not sinking.

The EPA is soliciting comments to regulations controlling CO2 emissions from BUILDINGS and COWS. EPA-HQ-OAR-2008-0318-0402 See Comment submitted by William L. Kovacs, Vice President, Environment, Technology & Regulatory Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce which outlines the massive oppression such legislation will inflict on our economy. Only Western, industrialized nations will bear this burden.

James A. Peden convincingly demolishes arguments that CO2 causes global warming.

Canadian Free Press has good 11-part series on history and politics of the CO2.

They’re saying that the disappearing rain forests surrounding Kilamanjaro have removed the moisture and thus the snow and thus the glaciers. FYI. ?????

I had heard that the lack of adequate moisture was the problem. And so, as with all glaciers, they shrink if the melting is more than the addition of moisture and they grow, if the addition of moisture is greater than the melt-off. And since glaciers are growing in other parts of the world, this is obviously something localized.

Being a volcano doesn’t mean the glacier will retreat.

A reduction in activity would result in less steam being generated from the volcano. Less steam would result in less artifical snow activity. Thus the existing snow is being melted away by solar rays, not solar heat, and not being sufficiently replenished by the volcanic steam.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it......

Yep. Black Friday killed more people than Three Mile Island.

Kilimanjaro has lost snow because the land around it has been deforested by local inhabitants. That means less humidity in the air which means less snow when the air rises to go over and around the peak. A fully documented local phenomenon described as early as 2003 in Nature magazine. In addition the incease in radiant solar energy this century has been sufficient to accelerate the direct evaporation of the snow mass, even without other factors.

But hey, when the leftwing phoneys need a symbol, they never let facts stand in their way. We will continue to lament our "Melting" of the glacier until Obama is president, at which point the issue will vanish from the media for good..

.....it had been covered multiple times before with glaciers....

Last year I visited the Exit Glacier in Alaska..... a National Park.

As we approached the glacier, at least two miles away, we began to see dated signs beginning in 1896 I believe. As we got closer the dates became more recent.

The point is, there has been warming on the Kenai Peninsula and the US Government has been tracking it for more than 100 years. We don't know what went on before around 1896 or 1898.

Yeah, that all makes sense. It’s obvious that these AGW (anthropogenic global warming) advocates have a big agenda and they don’t want the “facts” to get in the way...

The temperature is +3. The time is 9:45AM and the sun might rise in an hour, not that it would matter since it will just set again five hours later and won’t get above the trees.
