That appears to be a more common response than mass revolt. Look at the Jews and their shipment to the extermination camps. We are not totally immune here should Obama cook the frog slowly.
Recycled value of the paper is probably worth morethen the face value of the curency.
First is usually the passions of the masses are inflamed by political rhetoric. The masses are enamored by what they hear and don't really take the time, or have the means to decipher the message.
Then, as in the case of Ven and Zim, the rich man is “punished” and corporations are nationalized..”for the good of all.” Again the masses roar their approval. Dissent is stamped out.
But suddenly, the masses become the target. There is no economy, no place to live (Mugabe leveled the shanty towns), no food and wide spread disease.
How can an unarmed, starved, sick, demoralized people fight?
And why would a despotic ruler desire such a thing?
Mugabe inflicted this on an ignorant populace. It could happen in any country. Even an “educated” one.
Thanks!
Yes.
But, people, even poor ones, have the power to take their countries back. Call a national strike and go take the leader out en masse. Not much any “leader” can do about that.
Robert Mugabe follows the same principles espoused by Barak Obama’s father.
Obama?!? The water's near to boiling already!
Only if his army disobeys him.
It might have happened in the beginning. But people were so excited about a better life. But why rebel against that?
It would be a beautiful thing if a leader were to emerge and unite what is left of the people. But with little communication and a weakened “army” of rebels, I would be surprised if that happened.
Not the same, but similar to Nazi Germany. The general populace had no fight left in them. It took a war to free them. And Zimbabwe isn’t making any kind of moves toward another country that would cause an incursion that might free and ignite the native population.
Everyone feeling even a tiny bit of sympathy for Zimbabwe, or for the rock stupid people that enabled / followed Mugabe and rejoiced in the end of "colonial domination"....please raise a hand.
Everyone expecting those same (now starving) citizens to stand up and revolt after all these years...please seek treatment.
PS: From what I understand, you treat Cholera with a bucket and saline IV, three days and you're good to go. Without treatment, as soon as you are totally dehydrated - you're totally dead.
I expect they've sold the bucket and can't get the saline solution by this point.
I, for example, an naturally immune to this terrible disease, but I am sure my genes could help millions to breed a new generation.
There are others with similar immunity and I am sure some of them would be willing to "share".
An international program should be developed to "procure" assistance. (/sarc).
Who's gonna feed em fishheads?
What is going on in Rhodesia has been going on for decades, was beginning to occur just before the white government of Rhodesia was forced to step down and has been rapidly accelerating ever since. You will not read about this in most places in the West because not only is the failure of one tribal regime after another in Black Africa politically incorrect, but because once again governments in the liberal democracies of the West have been complicit in the slow torture/murder of this country, once with one of the highest standards of living in the world. South Africa is also eventually headed to this destination, although watching Zimbabwe and learning (a little) they aren’t in as much of a hurry. One more thing for which you can thank (among many other thoroughly cozened guilty white liberals) Jimmy Carter.
Oh, there’s no doubt about that.
They are giving fascism a bad name. This is a poster child for racists who long believed that blacks are inferior and can’t run a state. South Africa needs to invade and set things right. In our own backyard we have Haiti that is a basket case. We have invaded it several times only to see any money we put there be wasted. What Zimbabwe needs is a good tyrant —who knows what hes doing.
I agree, this was a successful country, exporting food, until they threw out the "white people".
Isn’t it nice to know that we to will be enjoying the same wonderful things Africa is now experiencing.
“please raise a hand..”
Okey dokey. My hand is up. I assume you watched the election with the mass of “educated” people praising Obama??
Take it down a level to people who don’t have any even what those masses have.
There but for the grace of God... (and I hope that is true).
What... and listen to a white colonialist?
Are you crazy!?!
The face of socialism.
The face of degradation and death.
Or San Francisco, or Los Angeles?
