Yes.

But, people, even poor ones, have the power to take their countries back. Call a national strike and go take the leader out en masse. Not much any “leader” can do about that.

It might have happened in the beginning. But people were so excited about a better life. But why rebel against that?

It would be a beautiful thing if a leader were to emerge and unite what is left of the people. But with little communication and a weakened “army” of rebels, I would be surprised if that happened.

Not the same, but similar to Nazi Germany. The general populace had no fight left in them. It took a war to free them. And Zimbabwe isn’t making any kind of moves toward another country that would cause an incursion that might free and ignite the native population.
