As I always say that's not entirely true. We had the luxury of being able to survive the Clintons. It a whole new ball game now.

I don’t think this child should be touching any antiques in the White House. I would think that desk would be off limits to a child but I guess 0 has other plans for the use of historical items. Shaking my head again.

"I think I'm going to go in that room where Abraham Lincoln, where there's that thing where he signed it?" "You mean the Gettysburg Address?" Obama asked.
I believe the Gettysburg Address was a speech. Perhaps she was thinking of the Emancipation Proclamation?
Maybe she can find a boyfriend at her new school and carve their name in it........

Puff piece...pure and simple, more journalistic fellatio on the Obamao/Media love affair.
Cool with the lass using the desk, it’s such a vapid piece of media, like “Obamao wants a puppy...he promised a puppy..”
Bleeccchhh...enough already, how many media types will faint when Obamao is crowned in January?

Do we even need to have this non-news posted here? Many of us avoid the drive-by media in part so we don’t have to hear about the Present-Elect’s every bowel move.

I can see incoming Presidents receiving positive treatment, after 8 months of the love fest for Obamao I’m rather tired of ...even more of a love fest for Obamao..
Media will literally bankrupt themselves puffing..err...showing this much blind love for the guy.

Tonight the History Channel did a 90 minute special with Laura Bush and President Bush behind the scenes at the WH with a lot of old pictures and old history. Very interesting, and very worthwhile. She worked with the WH Curator to restore the Lincoln Bedroom to how it looked in Lincons day. One thing they did was place a copy of the Gettysburg address on top of the desk in question. It is a copy Lincoln had made at the time to auction off for fund raising (which was sort of interesting). The desk is lovely, but I cannot picture kids running around in that room...
I cannot picture MO respecting that house and it's wonderful old history. Actually I wonder if she will remove the paintings of Washington, Dolly Madison, etc.? I think the people who are revered in that wonderful old place represent all she hates about this country.

Quickly followed by an in-depth discussion on Lardball with Christine Matthews, where Chrissy and special guest Keith Oldermann contemplate how strong the scent of roses were wafting through the White House...
