TIKRIT, Iraq – Eighteen females in northern Iraq who were associated with Al-Qaeda in Iraq suicide bombing cells turned themselves into Coalition forces on Nov. 26.
The females were persuaded by their mullahs and fathers to cease their training in suicide operations and reconcile.
Today, these women took the first step in reconciliation by turning themselves in and signing a reconciliation pledge.
Individuals who turn themselves into CF and want to demonstrate their willingness to cease attacks against the Government of Iraq, Iraqi civilians, Iraqi Security Forces and CF can enter the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) process. Eligible petitioners provide weapons and information on insurgent groups and sign a pledge to cease attacks and declare their support for the GoI.
“The fact that so many potential women suicide bombers turned themselves in today shows remarkable solidarity and unity as the people of Iraq continue to turn the tide against Al Qaeda and their barbaric methods to terrorize the populace,” said Maj. Gen. Mark P. Hertling, commander, Multi-National Division -- North. “Preying on the vulnerabilities of these women is a hallmark AQI tactic, and today’s event should serve as an example for other women who find themselves in similar situations, showing them there is another way.” -30-
Suspect that terrorists leaders are gnashing their teeth over their recruits going AWOL instead of blowing themselves up.
Hopefully they’ll give up some good intel as to who and where the instigators are.

For years I have warned family members to stay a long distance away from any Arab female wearing a long dress that fully covers the body. You never know when they go BOOOM!

"Gibson just returned from a tour in Afghanistan and said he believes Bush was right to start the war even though he has received a lot of criticism for the decision.
"This country is a lot safer because of what he's ((Pres. Bush)) done," Gibson said. "I agree with the fact that there hasn't been a person killed by terrorism on American soil since 9-11. That has a lot to do with what the military has done in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Master Sgt. Tony Colon, a member of the 5th Special Forces Group based at Fort Campbell, called the speech very encouraging and said he feels Bush has done a great job.
"With everything that is going on in the world, we have a leader that cares about us and the security of the nation," he said.
Colon said he hopes President-elect Barack Obama keeps the military strong and supports military families and makes sure "we have what we need to do our job, whether we're at peace or at war."
