Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.

"maybe i should just go to the store and purchase some essentials" Don't move unless/until you know the situation is under control. I don't know the details of your predicament to be sure -- but you can live for many days without any food at all so long as you have some water. SO, unless anyone in your household has a life-threatening medical issue there is no reason to go out until you know with certainty that it is safe again. Do you have water? Humans can live on just water for many days, even weeks - it wouldn't be pleasant, but you certainly should not need new supplies today. Not that it should take that long, but if it were me or my family I would not let anyone go out until the situation is totally secured.

Go in a group...all of you should be in good shape and able to move fast..don’t buy more than you absoutely need, and moreover...can’t carry without slowing you down SIGNIFICANTLY. Watch the mood of the cops and army...if there’s a lot of fingers on triggers...get off the street.

I cant even look at my brothers face . I dont even want to ask him anything . He is angry with my mother for the choice of hospital . You know he brought a bundle of notes . Before leaving the US he told his Girlfriend he would give any amout to keep his grandmother alive. It was too late . A sad but understandable reaction. I hope you can help him forgive. Why compound one tragedy with another? We are all headed the same place eventually, and a few more days or weeks mean nothing next to Eternity.
If your beloved grandmother was 85, it probably would have made very little difference which hospital she went to.
Stay safe, and thank you very much for the first-hand information.

Send us a list of what you have in your cupboards.
We can help you figure out some quick recipes. In the meantime, fill every container you can find with water! That is more important then food. I think you are in an apartment building. Some of your neighbors might be able to share resources.
Try to get them organized. If anything, it will give all of you something to do.

Then stay put till the shooting stops...and then take my advice...it’s what I did on 9/11. Stay cool bud...and for god’s sake...douse your lights as much as possible...keep the TVs away from the windows...if you’ve got dark curtains...put them over the windows...

I have two passports, one British and one American. No help.
Do they make fake passports from Ruritania?

There is no reason for a civilian to go out AT ALL in that situation until an “all clear” is given.
Only conceivable exception would be for a medical emergency that is life-threatening.

Maybe. The website I found had ones from former countries (South Vietnam, USSR, etc.)
A few minutes with google or LiveSearch will give you details.

Agreed...just saying what I did on 9/11..well after the attacks occured...And I only went a block to get milk, bread and toilet paper from the Daggies! So yeah..wait it out, but when it is clear, go in a group as I said...and get nothing that isn’t essential or that you can’t drop in a hurry if TSHTF again.
