Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.
The first shooting took place near the CST police station

Possible British passport terrorists. I am currently reading an extremely informative and scary book: By Ed Husain, titled “The Islamist: Why I joined radical Islam in Britain, what I saw inside and why I left”, 2007. He gives much detail on the ins and outs of various muslim/student organizations, their conflicts/cooperation, ideology and radical plans.
Even after 7/7 it seems the British have been very slow to take effective action, although since I have not finished reading, they may be doing more now. This whole dual passport thing needs careful review.
If it’s the same toddler that I saw in a short press conf, it was his nanny who saved his life.
Mumbai attacks: Tracking British Islamists is an immense task for MI5
Excerpt: MI5 has identified about 2,000 individuals who pose a direct threat to national security and public safety and believes the number of potential terrorists living in this country could run to 4,000.
The vast majority will have Pakistani links through their family background but will have been born and brought up in this country. They will have been radicalised often through contact with an extremist cleric at a mosque and as a result of internet contact with other jihadis.
Invariably, they will have been to Pakistan at some point where they will have come into contact with militants belonging to Al Qaeda or Kasmiri groups like Jaish-i-Mohammed.
However, even when someone is suspected of terrorist links, it can be difficult to keep them under surveillance once they leave Britain.
There was a News black out today in the afternoon for about 2-3 hrs .
+1
whether or not Paki civilian govt had any ties to this, it is becoming apparent the ISI and maybe even Pak military had ties to this.
Disturbing reports that many of these terrorists trained at camps just outside of Pak military bases. Pak civilian govt is damned if they do damned if they don’t. They either have enough power to keep the ISI and Pak military in check - in which case they are complicit in the attack OR the ISI and Pak military are beyond their control - in which case they are incapable of properly running the Pak govt.
Either way, the Indians are going to have the hands forced by the public rage and Pakistan is looking like its going to be the target of that rage.
war by Christmas bwtn India and Pakistan is probably not a bad bet . . .
Thank you for your vigilant reporting.
It would be interesting to know what kind of reactions the public is having, around India. If you hear or read anything, post it (when you have time).
What every sane “westerner” (and Indian) needs to understand is that every last “radicalized” Islamist is a ticking bomb waiting to go off.
We have to focus like a laser on the known “radicalized” individuals and, yes, prosecute them for their associations as a “conspiracy” against humanity, bar them from re-entry, prosecute for “ideas” as well as actions, etc. We need more stringent anti-terror laws.
It is hard for liberalism-saturated westerners to grasp, but everyone who believes in violent jihad IS already an enemy of civilization. By treating them with kid gloves and pretending that we must wait until they “act” we are giving known future terrorists the entree to every hotel, restaurant, train station, airport, etc. It’s only a matter of time until they act.
Many Hindus also see their “pseudo-secular media” as the enemy just as we do in the West.
Well, his name is Muslim... and idiots unfortunately are spread among all nations.
Actors. Feh!
AOL saying his parents had dual citizenship. Israel and American. They looked very young too. So sad.
This terror attack was and is like no other the world has ever seen.. we just witnessed an infantry assault on a major city.
The world is never going to be the same.
The multi-layered aspect is mind blowing.
Those are some very chilling thoughts. Praying that this event in Mumbai is not a prelude of new tactics to be used in future terror operations.
Home grown? Seven ofhem have so far proved to be Pakistanis form “Londonistan” (formerly England) with British passports! In case you did not know increasingly islamic Londonistan is part of islamic Eurabia (formerly European Union).

cheers,
Libertarians in Sweden are complaining whenever a non-blonde person is stopped by our customs officers. We know that in all airport controls and other security controls an 85 year old white haired lady is just as likely to be called in for a check as a 25 year old muslim male.
We cannot even handle those hostis humani generis that are preying on the shipping off the Horn of Africa.
It appears we learned nothing from the terror decades of the 70s and 80s.
(Sorry for sounding so negative, but I'm tired and at the moment I'm rather upset about the general stupidity of my fellow beings.)
Did they say why they did this? How's your family doing? Did you go for your walk on the beach?
Its the complexity of this one that has grabbed my attention.
The only ting missing so far is manpad teams to take down the Indian helos.
