Kind of like a pastry chef, who knows nothing about mechanical engineering, predicting a bridge will fail because it is 100 degrees outside.

These guys are former Soviet commies. They were thoroughly brainwashed for 40, 50, 60 years or more. They know NOTHING about economics or capitalism or democracy or free markets or individual freedome and think the greatest force the world has ever seen in all those areas is about to fail, lol.

Moscow-based, ex-commie dilettante wannabe capitalists have been dabbling in waters that are way over their heads ever since they crawled out of the communist sandbox a couple of years ago. Pay them no heed.

>He sees the US torn apart by the same centrifugal force that tore apart the Soviet Union, economic collapse.

My father lived through the Jimmah Carter years..yes, those years where you had gas lines that stretched for miles and soup lines were all over the states. I’ve never believed that economics will be the primary reason that breaks up the union...it will be POLITICS. Politics between the red and blue states. And people wonder why the left want to take away guns from law-abiding citizens..

Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

Yup. And in case you ever wanted to know what "information warfare" looked like...

The monetary crisis we’ve had so far, dwarfs anything that happened during Carter’s years.

The Fed has doled out $7.5T in free money, we are now talking about the failure of the big car companies, and a usurper is heading toward the throne.

Way, way beyond Carter.

Back during the Great Depression, many people were willing to abandon capitalism. They fully believed it ran its course and that communism was worth a try.

The same thing happened in Germany. The hyperinflationary period of the 1920s lead to such a deep economic depression that people were willing to do crazy things, even elect and support Adolph Hitler and make him dictator.

Today, we see the same pattern. People are willing to abandon capitalism and start trying socialist policies and systems. This is the historical evolution that frequently repeats itself that eventually leads to political collapse.

“And Lord knows they’ll be in for a fight if they try to take Alaska.”

It would be like Continuation War all over again!

“Mormon leaders predicted long ago an eventual collapse of the USA, a situation resembling a Mad Max scenario in which neighborhoods would be at war with neighborhoods, and the rightious people of all faiths having to migrate to the Rocky Mountains due to the only stability left in the USA would be the governing ability of the Mormon Church which would protect Mormons and non-Mormons seeking peace and safety.”

And could it be brought on by one that carries the mark of Cain? A wholly evil descendant of Cain?

Why would we accept Yankee’s that have destroyed their own states into ours? Besides, you don't know the password.

Not surprised that Soviet retreads indulge their fantasies. Constantly surprised at the number of Americans who appear to advocate the breakup/destruction of US. Especially here. You all do know what that is, don't you? Hmmm. I do remember reading something somewhere regarding “all enemies, foreign and domestic” now what was that? I know it's here somewhere...

I think the republicans will win in 2010 and 2012, but they are still going to have to deal with the same problems. Probably worse if anything. One thing is for sure, whoever is in power is going to have to tighten the belt. The good times are just about over.

Wrong. The best thing to come out of Russia was Szolchenitzen.

Everything else is unforgivable.

Quite so. Before the great crash in 1929, Hitler was the leader of a amall, fringe party of the extreme right. Well organised, but poorly funded, and with very little political power. By 1933 he was chancellor having polled 37% of the popular vote.

No, the best thing to come out of Russia was the AK-47 rifle.
