New border crossing gets OK from Bush

OTAY MESA – The plan to a build a new border crossing east of the Otay Mesa Port of Entry now has a stamp of approval from President Bush.

The proposed Otay Mesa East Port of Entry received last week what is called a “presidential permit,” which was signed by Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte.

The crossing would be built by the federal government and connected to state Route 905 by a 2.1-mile toll road that would be built by the California Department of Transportation.

Officials have said the entire cost of the project – about $800 million – would be covered through toll fees.

A third crossing would help relieve traffic backups at San Ysidro and Otay Mesa.

Caltrans officials will accept public comment on the project and its environmental effects at a hearing Dec. 4.

The hearing is scheduled for Ocean View Hills Elementary School in Otay Mesa, 4919 Del Sol Blvd., from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

For more information, call Kelly Finn, Caltrans environmental branch chief, at (619) 688-0229, or Caltrans project manager Mark Baza at (619) 688-2545.

“New border crossing gets OK from Bush”

This begs the question....is there a kind of border crossing he DOES NOT LIKE?

A while ago, Democrats were making plans to impeach Bush. When they didn’t go through with it, why didn’t Republicans?

He has wrecked the free market system, trashed the Republican brand, and proved over and over that he is incompetent and clueless about what the American people want. He refuses to fire Christopher Cox at SEC when most of the market experts I’ve been listening to say he’s an idiot. He refuses to repeal the “mark to market” accounting rule that these same experts say is one of the things that is destroying the banking and insurance industries.

He stubbornly refused to change tactics in Iraq until the mid-term election washed out a bunch of Republicans in the House and Senate including my state’s Rick Santorum.

The guy is a moron. I am ashamed I voted twice for him.

Obamao won’t be any different, but he’ll find a way to stick them suckers
some way and he’ll convince them they’re doing it because they want to.

Muchos Gracias Senior Jorge!!!!!

Hasta La Vista!!!

I thought the ENTIRE MEXICAN BORDER was Bush’s “border crossing”.

THIS is the man and THESE are the antics which helped lose Congress in the mid-terms and help put the Obamanation in the White House.

I will NEVER regret seeing him go.

Hasta La Vista Senior Jorge!!!

We currently have more than 7,000 crossing points on the border due to the Bush Administration’s refusal to enforce our sovereignty and our laws.

What difference does one more with his approval matter??

Take heart. The LibTards are going to have a rude awakening with Obama...then four years from now, they can make a post just like yours. :)

You don’t need to be ashamed for voting for President Bush twice. I did. I SAVED our bacon from Algore and John F-in Kerry. I’m very proud of that. :)

President Bush gave me two AWESOME SCOTUS appointments. Tax breaks that put money back into my pocket. What would Algore or John F-in Kerry have done for me? For you?

Be very careful what you wish for. Especially in these “interesting” times. ;)

I guess Texas wasn’t a large enough crossing area for him.

Hear, hear...add me onto the list. The thing that pisses me off about Bush is that he never fought back against the Democrats or never advanced solid conservative goals. It was all mushed up business-as-usual crap, and voters just got sick of it and supported the real thing in 2006 and 2008. That's why Bush's victories were razor-thin margins - he never won over the small government types or the blue collar folks.

He’s too busy pardoning real felons to deal with Ramos and Compean.

The guy is an albatross around the neck of conservatives and Republicans. The sooner he is out of office the better. Then things will focus on the Obamanation and HIS problems.
