When Barack Obama began taking questions during todays economic press conference, reporters quickly realized that raising ones hand wouldnt lead to getting called on. That's because news outlets were selected beforehand.
President-elect Obama, according to an aide, went in with a game plan of who to call on, time-permitting. Today, he took questions from reporters with three wire services and three major papers.
Only the Associated Press and Reuters have asked questions at both post-election briefings, the first of which was held on Nov. 7. Otherwise, its been a mixed bag. For instance, the NY Times got an opportunity during the first, but the not the second. The opposite can be said for the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal.

I noticed the Messiah did not call upon the broadcasters.
He will teach them to heel, like good lapdogs should.
Why do I think Obama cheated on all his exams???
Did FOX get blanked again? Fantastic! All the kissing up got them nothing!
And all questions MUST be submitted in advance.
Remember when Bush was heavily criticized for doing nearly the same thing?
at this rate the honeymoon will be over before he even gets sworn in.
He called on one guy when he was looking to his left and the guy was to his far right.
Where’s FOX News on the list? Fairness Doctrine says they’re next!
Before all is said and done. This guy will turn into a male Hillary Clinton.
You won’t be able to ask certain questions, nor get too close, or look directly into his eyes while talking. Within a few weeks he’ll be wearing a woman’s black pantsuit.
Haha, a faint bit of satisfaction-I’ve said that I couldn’t wait for Hussein’s attack on freedom to bite the complicit media in the azz, as the most useful idiots-and it may happen sooner than I ever believed possible. How will these self-important bubble-dwellers feel when they realise that they too, have to pull their forelocks and bend the knee to the Obamination, in order to have access? How will they feel when their stories have to be vetted, and freedom of the press is an empty phrase for show? They were all aboard for the freedoms of the rest of us to be abridged, and thought that they part of the inner circle, even the power behind the throne. It will be grim satisfaction to watch them realise that they are just another set of useful idiots to the socialist state, and subject to the same lack of respect as the rest of us.
Mika and the gang on Morning Joe had their kneepads on this morning. The chumminess with which they converse with the Obamacons is sickening.
Didn't fool you. Obama does much better giving pre-written orders to the Obamunists instead of actually answering real question.
And they thought Bush was dumb ....
LOL, I love it. What are they going to do when the left won’t give them the time of day because of their former so-called “bias”, and the right has told them to get lost, after their betrayal? They deserve every diss they’re about to get.
“Remember when Bush was heavily criticized for doing nearly the same thing?”
Pres. Bush seemed to see it as somehow benevolent to tolerate the incivility exhibited at his press conferences. It will be rather amusing to see the press lead around by their noses, or other leverage points, and they WILL like it.
“He called on one guy when he was looking to his left and the guy was to his far right.”
“No Drama Obama” hates to look like a buffoon. Hence the reason for his heavy reliance on teleprompters during the campaign and this odd style of conducting press conferences. I’m not cynical enough to believe he gets the actual questions in advance, but by giving everyone assigned seats and having a “cheat sheet” of who will get called, Obama can make it look as if he knows reporters by name (when in fact he could care less). Note that he “rotates” questions from his right to middle to left etc. to make it appear “spontaneous”/unplanned [watch YouTube clips of JFK press conferences or even GWB press conferences and you’ll see that in many cases they actually DO know reporters by name!].
FWIW, this “style” may simply emanate from his law professor days, where everyone is expected to sit in the same seat, prof has a cheat sheet of names/seats (and these days head shots!) of those in the class and can proceed—Prof. Kingsley-style, for those who remember The Paper Chase—to browbeat and intimidate students who show up unprepared (as they know they cannot hid in the anonymity of a 100+ student lecture hall since the prof knows their name and seat location). It’s the ultimate in having mastery/control over the situation. The trembling students are so preoccupied with not being put on the spot that they don’t dare flip roles and try to put the prof in the hot seat with a difficult question.
boyHitler was carried from his announcement to his victory upon a MSM lugged sedan chair. What a fine campaign did he run.
So...are all the handlers behind him instructed in a kidney chop to Zero’s back when he steps over his instructions?
He looks like a black Howdy-Doody.
